On Saturday’s morning Depor Sport announced that the club has reached an agreement with Villarreal CF for the loan of winger/playmaker Javier Camuñas. The Madrilenian player is the eighth signing ahead of the Primera season 2012/13.

The fans are patiently waiting for the signing of a striker and after the arrival of Marchena it seemed that only one more player, a striker, was going to be signed before the closure of the transfer window, but on Saturday Depor Sport surprised everyone with the announcement of the signing of a player with a different profile: Javier Camuñas.

The 32-year-old man is a versatile midfielder as he can perform on the left wing, the playmaker’s role and even as a second striker. He’s arriving from Villarreal CF in a loan deal lasting one season. The presentation of Deportivo’s eighth signing ahead of the new season will take in place on Monday, just one week before the debut in liga. Lendoiro confirmed the operation after the Teresa Herrera.

Camuñas might be a surprising signing, but it isn’t the first time that he’s linked with Deportivo; Lendoiro was impressed with him during his stage at Recreativo de Huelva and attempted his signing in the summer of 2009, but instead he chose to sign for Osasuna and played there in the following two years, then he went to Villarreal CF, place where he suffered the relegation to Segunda on the past season.

The arrival of Camuñas isn’t the last signing that the club will make, because Deportivo still negotiating the arrival of the so wished goal- scorer that will reinforce the striking line. What’s true is that this singing is closing the ‘banana operation’.
