It has been a poor start of season for Deportivo B, with new coach Devesa having big problems to find a fixed lineup, and without doubt one of the few good news is Paulo Teles, a Portuguese midfielder that landed at the team for the present season.

If the eight Portuguese players at the first team aren’t enough, there’s another one at Fabril: Paulo Teles. The 19-year-old midfielder ended his contract with SL Benfica during the summer and decided to sign a three-year deal with Deportivo; a difficult choice for any young player, but he’s happy in A Coruña as he confessed to Depor Sport that: ”I’m pretty happy and content, both at the team and the city.”.

Teles has just played in four of the eight meetings of the Tercera season (297 minutes), but it was because he was injured; the point is that the Portuguese has left a positive impression commanding midfield territory of Depor B; a proof of this was his great assist for the third goal against CD Dorneda. He has even trained with the first team in a couple of opportunities.

The player himself is content with adaptation to the city, ”It has been pretty easy, because there are great team mates helping me to my adaptation. For now I have played a few minutes, because a knock put me four weeks on the sidelines. I still trying to earn the pace and still can give more. I’m just recovering the lost ground of the first matchdays, and little by little things are improving, Besides, I am one of the new guys and I’m still adapting and learning the style of playing of the team.”

One of the problems for Teles is that coach Devesa counts with Romay and Juan Carlos, two players that can perform on the playmaking function, his preferred position on the pitch, for this reason he has been playing as a centre midfielder or even as a winger. He commented the situation, ”I like to play behind the striker, this in order to have more arrivals. The true is that I don’t mind to do it there, at midfield or at the wing.”
