Caparrs was asking for a left wingback in order to finalise his defensive squad, and Lendoiro is near to fulfilling his requests with the incorporation of Rodri. The Barcelona defender will be the ninth signing for the new season, for the moment the clubs are trying to close the details and the deal could be announced soon.

Sergio Rodrguez 'Rodri' is a 21-year-old defender that debuted during the 2004/2005 campaign with Barcelona's first squad. He was promoted by coach Rikjaard in order to play with Puyol in the central positions. Rodri played four matches in the last La Liga season. Currently the Catalans are trying to sign experienced players like Thuram and Zambrotta and for that reason, Rodri will not enjoy of too many chances during the next season.

Caparrs was asking for a left wingback with the capacity to perform in the centre and it seems that Rodri is the selected choice, although the Catalan prefers to play on the right side (he is right-footed). His agent, Javier Daz, confirmed the negotiations between Deportivo and Barcelona. The deal will be very similar to the one of Cristian. Therefore, it could be a zero-cost transfer and as exchange, the Catalans will perceive a percentage of a possible sell in the future. The contract to be signed is for four years.

Yesterday it was reported the declarations made my Dudu Aouate to Depor Sport criticising the way in which Racing was managing his transfer to Depor, now newspaper El Diario Montaes has informed that Racing's officials are unhappy with the keeper's declarations, specially where he said that "his mind was in La Corua". The Catabrian club is analysing the possibility of opening a disciplinary file to the player. A new fact that probes that the relationship between Aouate and Racing is broken. The negotiation are still blocked for the time being. Racing's officials say that they will only accept to continue the operation if Munitis is included as exchange.

Deportivo confirmed that Xisco and Ivn Carril will reinforce Vecindario during the next season. The Canarian club will play in Segunda and Caparrs believes that it will be a good experience for both youngsters. The deal is possible thanks to the collaboration agreement signed between the clubs. As part of this agreement goalkeeper Fabricio (currently training with the first squad) and striker Aridane (promoted to Fabril for the next season) already joined Depor last season.
