Depor B lost the spot at the promotion zone after a boring game at the A Magdalena field; Devesa’s team had a few scoring opportunities and improved at the end of the match, but Depor’s youngsters were unable to break the deadlock.

Coach José Luis Devesa was recovering keeper Marc Martinez after been concentrated with the first team, but centre-backPablo Insua was with Oltra’s team due to the casualties for the match against Real Betis. The casualties due to injury reasons were winger Victor Díaz, centre midfielder Richi and right-back Adriá Gallego Centre midfielder Paolo Teles was returning from suspension, but he wasn’t a starter. Juvenil A centre-back Róber was once again part of the team.
The formation was switched into a 4-2-3-1. Marc Martinez returned to the goal; Iván Garrido played at the right-back position, Ángel Martinez did it at the left side, while Róber and Uxío Marcos were the centre-backs. Oumar Sidibé and Adrián Martinez were the centre midfielders; Álvaro Lemos covered the right wing, Romaywas now playing on the left; Juan Carlos was the playmaker and Luis Fernández was the central attacker.

Racing Villalbés was the rival for the occasion; the team coached by José Antonio Prieto ‘Cata´ ended among the first five positions within the last two seasons, but on this campaign they’re having a mediocre performance living at mid-table. Óscar ´La ‘Magia’ Martinez is the main reference in attack, who curiously is the brother of Fabril’s midfielder Adrián Martinez.

Boring game in the cold dawn of Villalba (Lugo); Fabril had the ball possession but the team missed the needed spark in order to create scoring opportunities. The best of the team came at the beginning and at the end of the clash, the rest was pure boredom.

Depor B had a promising start, with a free-kick of Juan Carlos that was sent over the crossbar of the goal defended by local keeper José Ángel González (10’). Later Álvaro Lemos was assisted by Romay at the right wing and he released a drilling shot that was too easy for the local goalie (16’).

Then Racing Villalbés regained the control at midfield, but despite the leadership of Óscar Martinez the locals missed depth and therefore they never completed a shot on target against Marc Martinez, just a long-range attempt of Mauro Poratti that missed the target. Neither Fabril did more in the remaining minutes of the first part as the visitors were unable to surpass the local defensive wall.

If the first part was boring the second was somniferous; little football and a lot of inaccuracies. The only opportunities within the first half an hour were a couple of crosses of Romay coming from the right that were cleared, first by the defense and later by José Ángel. Then Adrian Martinez had a chance with a long-range attempt that went wide.

Devesa moved the bench and ordered the three changes for the final stage in the clash; winger Diego Vela and Jorge Cano, plus midfielder Paolo Teles entered and replaced Lemos, Adrián Martinez and Juan Carlos, which turned the draw into a 4-1-4-1 with Romay moving his position to the centre joining Teles on the playmaking functions.

The idea was to add depth on the wings, and at certain point it worked out as Fabril looked more dangerous within the final ten minutes, but it wasn’t enough to break the deadlock. Luis had the best scoring opportunity in the second half with a short-range attempt after a pass from Romay, but it was stopped by José Ángel and the last chance was for Teles, but the Portuguese playmaker missed the target.

One of the worse games of Fabril on the season; the team never felt comfortable on the cold pitch at A Magdalena and barely created scoring opportunities. Devesa made late changes and the team improved, but it didn’t have the time to score the goals. It’s the second goalless game for Depor B on this season. The result is pulling the team out of the promotion spots; Devesa’s boys are now sixth at the standings, two points below the 4th place. On next Sunday the team is hosting 16th place SD Negreira at Abegondo (16h30 CET).

Comments of Devesa: ”We wanted to win since the kick-off; actually our start was pretty strong, though we lost control at the end of first part. We were too hurried and didn’t have continuity. Still, we fixed some things in the second part. It was hard to find the cracks due to the scheme of the rival, but the draw cannot be considered as a bad result. There were only a few scoring opportunities, though I believe we deserved to win.”
