Deportivo B waited until the second half in order to achieve the biggest win of the season. The rival played a poor match and Devesa’s boys seized the chance to clinch the three points and re-enter into the promotion zone.

Coach José Luis Devesa was still missing centre-backPablo Insua, who was going to be a starter with Deportivo’s first team visiting Atlético Madrid. For this reason Juvenil A centre-back Róber was once again part of the starting formation. The casualties due to injury reasons were winger Victor Díaz, centre midfielder Richi and right-back Adriá Gallego

The formation was a 4-2-3-1. Marc Martinez defended the goal; Iván Garrido played at the right-back position, Ángel Martinez did it at the left side, while Róber and Uxío Marcos were the centre-backs. Oumar Sidibé and Paulo Teles were the centre midfielders, Álvaro Lemos covered the right wing, Romay played at the left though he was constantly joining the playmaker at the centre: Juan Carlos. Finally, Luis Fernández was the central attacker.

The rival was SD Negreira; the team coached by Javier Oreiro was living at the edge of relegation and had lost five of their last six games. Defender Francisco Allo ‘Paco’ was out suspended, while side defender Marcos Rodriguez was on the bench; he’s the Pichichi at the team with four goals scored so far.

Big wing for Deportivo B at Abegondo; it wasn’t a difficult task, though the five goals arrived until the second part. Negreira was a complete disaster at defense and only the lack of aim prevented to see some goals in the first part. This time the team didn’t lose the patience and the whole offensive line looked pretty strong.

Fabril had the ball possession since the kick-off; Negreira spent the time locked at the back trying to contain the attacks from the locals and only the lack of aim from Juan Carlos, Romay and Luis, plus two saves from visiting goalie Sergio Ríos,  prevented to see goals in the first part.  The main virtue of Devesa’s boys was to not lose the patience as they weren’t scored, something that the coach had warned in previous games.

Another constant throughout the game were the tough tackles, in this sense Hugo Arnejo had to leave after just 20 minutes after suffering a tough foul of Romay. Iván Garrido also got injured in the second part after been tackled. Fabril’s Teles was the player that was more punished on this regard.

And all the aim missed in the first part showed up for the second half; the first goal arrived just two minutes after the pause. Teles throw a corner-kick from the right; Lemos headed the ball at the near post , the ball turned into a high volley that Luis Fernández found at the far post to connect a strong shot that beat Sergio Ríos.

The second arrived nine minutes later; it was a great play of Juan Carlos at the left wing in which he eluded three rivals to end assisting Luis, who scored again with a shot from the edge of the area. The striker has now four goals added to his tally and is, together with Juan Carlos, the Pichichi at the team.

Fabril completely outplayed Negreira in this half, with Sidibé controlling midfield territory and with the whole offensive line looking sharp. Precisely, the player from Burkina Faso begun the play of the third goal; he drilled the ball from midfield and into the right wing, the defenders of Negreira failed completely as they couldn’t clear the ball, so Iván Garrido ended releasing a drilling shot that Manuel Ángel ‘Manuti’ deflected into his own net.

The game was already decided at this point, but the locals continued pushing and scored two more goals. Before, Devesa ordered the three changes. Álex Pérez replaced injured Iván Garrido, Diego Vela entered for Luis and Cano replaced Teles. The moves kept the 4-2-3-1 figure, but with a weird replacement as Lemos was covering the right-back position, while Cano and Vela were the wingers. Romay joined Juan Carlos at the centre and Álex Pérez was the central attacker.

The fourth goal arrived two minutes after the last two changes; Vela ran 20 meters without any opposition and ended drilling the ball into the right side of the area, Álvaro Lemos arrived on time and he slightly chipped the ball past Sergio Ríos. The last goal was also a counterattack, this time with Jorge Canodrilling the ball into the left, then Jorge Romay scored the goal with an accurate shot from the left corner of the box.

A patient Deportivo B waited until the second part to score five times and clinch the three points before a rival that committed several mistakes at defense. Luis scored a brace and opened the gates for the big win. The team is living its best moment and has only dropped four of the last eighteen points in dispute. Also, this is their sixth straight home win on the tournament.

It’s also the first time in a year in which Fabril scores five or more goals in one single game; the previous time big win was a 6-1 win over Cultural Areas (Dec 06, 2011). The result is putting Depor B back at the promotion seats, three points behind second place SD Compostela & RC Celta B. On next Sunday, the team is visiting Céltiga CF (16h00 CET).

Comments of Devesa: ”It was necessary to work hard in order to clinch the victory, because the rival was ordered and put us in trouble. Anyway we deserved the victory, besides we saw a good Fabril. We missed aim in order to score in the first part, but not in the second.”
