Caparrs has almost completed his squad for the 2006/2007 season. His last addition is Rodri, a new defender who will cover any holes in the team. The main doubt right now is the two goalkeepers and confirming the departures from the first squad.

The deals with Rodri and Barragn are still to be signed, but these two incorporations can be considered done. Both are young defenders who can perform in the centre and in other positions (Barragn as a right wingback and Rodri as a right/left defender). The contract with Rodri will be signed in the next few hours and Caparrs is counting on him for the pre-season stage in Isla Canela (starting this Saturday).  Barragn will have to wait since he is participating in Spain's U-19 squad in the European Championship that's taking place in Poland.

With the arrival of Rodri, Caparrs has covered 23 of the 25 spots available for La Liga. The other two spaces are for the goalkeepers. This list of 23 players doesn't include the discarded ones: Diego Tristn, Momo, Rben Castro, 'Toro' Acua, Gustavo Muna, Lionel Scaloni and Pablo Amo. This is one of Lendoiro's issues that is still to be solved. If Depor's president doesn't find a new team for them, they won't be given squad numbers and will stay out of competition, at least until the transfer window opens in December.

But new surprises could occur. Possible sales like Duscher, Munitis, Sergio or Andrade could open a spot for new signings, or even for one of Caparrs' discarded players. The Sevillan coach created doubts when he commented yesterday morning that "Rodris signing could be followed by a new signing, a defender who can play in other positions."

El Ideal Gallego believes that this new signing will be one of these two players: ngel Guirado (23) or lvaro Arbeloa (23). Depor has been following Arbeloa for a while, but he's spending the pre-season with Real Madrid and the club will not get fresh news about him until August. Guirado is a right wingback who belongs to Crdoba (Segunda B). He played on loan with Atltico Madrid B this past season. His agent, Antonio Sanz, confirmed to El Ideal Gallego that there's an agreement between Depor and the defender. The newspaper states that Lendoiro will negotiate his signing within the next 48 hours.

In the meantime, Caparrs is counting on these 23 players:
Defenders: Manuel Pablo, Hctor, Barragn, Andrade, Juanma, Coloccini, Lopo, Rodri and Capdevila.
Midfielders: Duscher, Sergio, Juan Rodriguez, De Guzmn, Iago, Valern, Estoyanoff, Pablo Alvarez, Cristian Hidalgo and Munitis.
Strikers: Riki, Taborda, Bodipo and Arizmendi.

All of these men (with the exception of Barragn) will travel to Isla Canela this Saturday. The pre-season stage is important for Caparrs and he's satisfied that he can count on almost the entire squad.  The only thing that worries him is the goalkeeper, although Lendoiro has two more days to find a solution. The list of players going to Isla Canela will be completed with the youngsters who Caparrs previously selected: Pablo Lpez Rivadulla (winger), David Rochela (defender), Juan Domnguez (playmaker), Marcos Caridad (defender), Ian Mackay (keeper) and Fabricio Augusto (keeper).

The soap opera of the summer market belongs to Dudu Aouate (28). The Israeli keeper is desperate to join Depor, but the differences between the Galician club and Racing continues. It has been speculated that presidents Lendoiro and Perna spoke during the last few hours, but nothing seems to be sure.

What's clear is that Caparrs already has the name of the second keeper. The Sevillan coach said that he is satisfied with the work of Fabricio Augusto and Ian Mackay, both youngsters who have been training with the first squad in the Abegondo. Caparrs is impressed with them, and for this reason either of these two keepers will be rewarded with a spot in the first squad.

Another possibility is Guillermo Surez (28). He comes from Marino de Luanco and is passing a test period in Abegondo thanks to Eugenio Botas, one of Lendoiro's preferred agents. But Caparrs seems to be convinced that the second keeper will be Fabricio or Mackay, meaning that the only question left is who will be the first choice keeper. Aouate continues to be the preferred choice.
