AND MUNITIS?

02 Aug 2006
President Lendoiro took advantage of Verdu's presentation and talked about other issues related to Deportivo. The main question was the situation of Munitis and Aouate. He also restated that the club is trying to find a new club for Diego Trist??n.

Lendoiro believes that the Munitis-Aouate operation is almost done. He said that the only thing left is to reach an agreement between Racing Santander and Munitis. According to him, the Cantabrian club negotiated all night long with the winger, and the Galician club is only waiting to receive formal notification from them.

Depor's president was asked about his disagreement with Caparr??s over Munitis' exit. Lendoiro said that he has convinced the coach of the necessity of the transaction: "We can’t keep Munitis and sign Aouate at the same time. The situation is simple – Aouate yes, Munitis no. Caparr??s has known this since the first minute. He would love to keep Munitis, but the interest in Aouate is real, and the coach has given us his approval."

About Trist??n, Lendoiro said that the club is still searching for a new home for him. The Sevillan striker said a couple of days ago that he was thinking of spending the next season at Deportivo, but Lendoiro refused to let him. The president said that he is expecting to transfer him as soon as possible. Also, Lendoiro didn't want to close the door to any new signings. He said that any new signings will occur according to the necessities of the club.

BARRAGAN WILL BE PRESENTED TOMORROW
The ex-Liverpool defender Antonio Barrag??n arrived in La Coru?a last night and will be presented tomorrow. First he will have to pass some medical tests. He was signed last month, but his participation with Spain's U-19 squad in the last European tournament prevented him from joining Caparr??s’ squad.
