DEPORTIVO IN SEPTEMBER

28 Aug 2013
Busy month for Deportivo with six games in just thirty days. It will be a tough exam, especially at the end of September, because the Galicians will face three candidates to promotion, plus the first match in Copa Del Rey.

September will be a busy month for Deportivo as Fernando Vázquez’s team will face five league matches plus the game for Copa Del Rey. The month will be divided in two parts; in the first the Blanquiazul outfit will face two clubs trying to survive at Liga Adelante plus the challenge in Copa.

On Sunday, Depor visit CE Sabadell CF. The Catalans had a shocking start of season as they trashed RCD Mallorca in the first game of the season, but in the past weekend they lost visiting SD Ponferradina. Depor have always faced problems visiting CE Sabadell CF, because they have only won three times after 27 visits playing for Primera or Segunda División.

One week later Real Murcia will visit the Riazor. The Murcians are the team that has witnessed more goals on this start of season, because eleven goals have been scored in their two games. They began the season with a defeat at home facing Recreativo de Huelva, but on the past Sunday they surprised RCD Mallorca playing at Son Moix.

Then Deportivo will face the second round in Copa Del Rey, it’s a one-leg series visiting Córdoba CF, precisely the team that defeated Depor on last weekend. It’s the second time the Galicians face the Andalusians in a Copa series, the previous opportunity took place on the season 2010/11 and Deportivo won the series with a 4-2 in the aggregate score.

The second part of the month is the toughest one, because Deportivo will face three candidates for the promotion seats, a trio that hasn’t lost yet on this season. The first rival in this period is Sporting Gijón; the Galicians have been unable to defeat the Asturians within their last six confrontations, plus the friendly game played on the past pre-season stage.
