MATCHDAY 15: THE SEVENTH LEADER

27 Nov 2013
Deportivo La Coruña became into the seventh leader of the season at liga Adelante; there were movers and shakers at the promotion seats, while the same four clubs continue to lie at the bottom of the standings.

New leader at Liga Adelante 2013/14 and is no other than Deportivo. The Galicians clinched a new away win visiting SD Ponferradina (0-1). It’s their fourth straight victory in the competition, enough reason to become the seventh leader of the tournament after fifteen matchdays.

Recreativo de Huelva, the leader for the previous nine weeks, is following the opposite path after they lost at home hosting SD Eibar ((1-2). The Andalusians have only added one of the last twelve points in dispute and already wasted the six-point advantage that they had only a few weeks ago.

There were more movers and shakers among the first positions, starting with SD Eibar itself; the Basques have won five of the last six games and already reached the fourth position, their highest mark since the third place on matchday 01. Meanwhile, UD Las Palmas clinched a dramatic 1-2 win visiting Barcelona B and the Canarians are already third after winning four of their last five meetings.

CD Lugo broke its undefeated streak of six games losing at home against Sporting Gijón (1-3), both teams are closing the promotion zone. CD Numancia and Córdoba CF are another losers on the weekend; los Numantinos only got a goalless draw visiting last place Real Madrid Castilla, while the Andalusians allowed three goals in one game for the first time on the season visiting CD Mirandés (1-3).

Real Murcia wasted a new chance to re-enter into the top six positions after a goalless draw hosting AD Alcorcón. The Murcians are winless within the last six matches. As Fernando Vázquez predicted the standings are already breaking up. The distance between Depor and seventh place CD Numancia is already of six points.
