Moved days at Deportivo as the transfer window is now open. Xisco has been linked with a return, Culio could leave and there are other three players that have been mentioned as a possible target of the club.

The winter transfer window is already open and Deportivo are already linked with several moves, both arrivals and exits. Despite the first team is only composed by nineteen players there’s one man that could leave.

Last week it was known that Juan Culio is pretended by United Arab Emirates Football League club Al Wasl FC. Deportivo haven’t received any offer, but the agent of the player confirmed the contacts. The club won’t allow his exit, something already confirmed by president Lendoiro and candidate Tino Fernández, but at the same time the club admits that if the player wants to leave then it will be hard to avoid it.

The Argentine player is training with the first team and hasn’t said anything about his case, but according to coach Fernando Vázquez the key is to negotiate an extension in his contract, because the player will be open to stay having a longer deal (his current contract expires in June).

What’s already a fact is that Antonio Núñez will stay at least until June. The Bankruptcy Administration accepted to extend his contract and the player signed the new deal on Monday. The winger has had a limited participation so far, mainly due to the injuries, though he left a positive impression in the last game against CD Numancia.

About arrivals, Fernando Vázquez confirmed on Monday that the target of the club is to hire two wingers and a striker. On Sunday it was known that striker Xisco is trying to leave Córdoba CF. The former-player of Depor has scored five goals in fourteen Segunda matches.

During the summer the Majorcan player said in public that he would have loved to return to A Coruña, but the club never showed interest, now this seems to be changing as Depor seem open to allow the return of the striker, who scored the goal that certified the promotion two seasons ago. But it seems difficult as Córdoba CF will not allow his exit without receiving money from a transfer (his contract lasts until 2016).

Then Radio Cadena Cope revealed three names of players that Deportivo are chasing: Ariel Ibagaza (37, Olympiacos), Rodrigo Mora (26, River Plate) & Ricardo Esgaio (20, Sporting CP). The trio has been mentioned as possible substitutes for Culio, but they could arrive even if the Argentine man stays at the first team.

Argentine Ibagaza is a well-known player in Spain for his career at RCD Mallorca and on the current season he has only played three games at the Superleague Greece, so it’s rumoured he’s keen to leave Olympiacos FC. He’s the more likeable player to replace Culio as both play in the same position and have similar skills.

Rodrigo Mora is a Uruguayan striker performing for Argentine outfit River Plate CF; he was loaned by Benfica SL having a buyout option of four million Euros. The true is that River Plate and Mora had a poor Torneo Inicial 2013/14. Los Millonarios only won five of the nineteen games that were played. Mora played in 10 of those 19 games and ended scoreless.

Meanwhile, Portuguese Ricardo Esgaio is a promising player that can perform either as a winger or as a right-back. He debuted on the season 2011/12 with Sporting CP, in the current season the youngster is playing with the B team competing at the II Liga Portuguesa; he has scored 9 goals in 20 matches, including a hat-trick against Chaves (November 06).

The last player linked with Depor is striker José Verdú ‘Toché’ (31, Panathinaikos FC). According to Radio Cadena Cope he has just cancelled his contract with Panathinaikos FC and was already approached by Deportivo.

The Murcian striker knows pretty well the Segunda División after scoring 35 goals in 74 games with FC Cartagena; last season he netted 11 goals in 31 games with Panathinaikos FC, including two in the UEFA Europa League, but there are other clubs interested in the player like Real Zaragoza and Real Valladolid.
