Transfer news

After a slow start, things are getting hot at Plaza de Pontevedra; the president and the coach announced that there will be many moves at Depor’s first team, and for now there are already two new signing and three contract renewals.

The new board of directors has a different style; they only confirm the transfer operations until the contracts are signed, so a deal could be already done and could be already public, but it will be announced until all the parties involved sign the contracts. It is one of the reasons why Deportivo’s summer moves seemed to be slower than previous years.

In this sense there are operations that are considered done, but that remain with the signboard “pending” as the papers aren’t signed yet. It’s the case of centre midfielder Juan Dominguez, he already agreed to extend his contract (ending in 2015), but the deal isn’t signed yet.

But things have accelerated within the last days after the club announced the first two signings in a matter of three days. In the middle it confirmed one of the three renewals made so far. And there will be more, because it’s necessary to have in mind that both, the president Tino Fernández and coach Fernando Vázquez, said in recent weeks that the fans should expect many changes ahead of next season at Primera.

The first new face is Roberto Canella. The left-back completed the medicals on Friday, but it wasn’t presented as he had to return to Gijón. Still, the signing is already official in a loan deal with Sporting Gijón lasting until the end of the campaign 2014/15. There’s no buyout option.

José Carlos is the second signing for the new season. The player arrived last night to A Coruña and will undergo the medicals early on Monday. The playmaker/winger should sign a two-year contract and could be presented to the fans.

Then to remember the three renewals made so far. The first operation completed by Deportivo during the summer was the renewal of Albert Lopo. The Catalan centre-back signed a two-year renewal one week ago. On that same week the club confirmed the continuity of Manuel Pablo, who already had a four-year deal as a club’s official, but that will keep playing in what should be a final season at Depor’s first team.

Another player that signed a two-year renewal was German Lux. The Argentine keeper has been negotiating with Depor during the previous two weeks and just signed the papers. The operation was announced on Friday.
