The third official signing of the season 2014/15 should be Lucas Pérez. The winger finally arrived on Friday to A Coruña, but Deportivo haven’t confirmed yet the signing. It’s expected a loan deal with PAOK FC.

The soap opera in the signing of Lucas Pérez remain on, but seems closer to live the last chapter. On Friday the Galician player landed in A Coruña in order to sign for Deportivo. The winger is arriving loaned for one year coming from Greek club PAOK FC, though Deportivo haven’t confirmed yet the operation.

Lucas has been linked with Depor for the past two weeks and his signing was always pointed as “almost done”, but the conflict with former coach Fernando Vázquez put on hold the operation. What happened was that PAOK didn’t want to release the player and it was him the one that insisted after knowing that Depor wanted him.

The player accepted to reduce his wages to €250,000 (he was earning €400,000 at PAOK plus extras like a house and a car). However Lucas didn’t like when Vázquez said on last weekend that the signings of Depor were “sixth or seventh options.”

Lucas arriving to A Coruña

On Thursday, president Tino Fernández said that the player had already decided to search for another club in Spain and that he changed his mind later after Vázquez was fired. He should have arrived on Wednesday, but there was a problem with the flight that delayed the arrival until Friday.

Lucas Pérez is an A Coruña-born winger that can perform on both the right and the left –he’s left-footed- and that can even be used as a second striker. In Greece he scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists in 50 appearances during last season (league, cup, Champions League and Europa League).
