Diogo Salomão returns for the fourth time to Deportivo La Coruña. The Portuguese winger is the fifth signing ahead of the season 2014/15. He’s in the last part of his recovery process and hopes to be fit to play for October.

In a surprising announcement released on Sunday’s night, the club informed that Diogo Salomão was going to join the team ahead of the new season. It’s the fourth straight campaign in which the left winger is going to play for the Galician team. However the operation was official until Wednesday as Depor and Sporting CP were still negotiating the details of the operation.

In the end it’s a new loan deal for one season with the Galician club paying the full player’s wages. The winger arrived on Sunday’s night to A Coruña and on Monday he underwent the medicals. A specialist, doctor Arriaza, also made a scan of his current situation with the knee and it was determined that everything is according to the deadlines.

The winger expects to be available for October, as he said during an interview to La Voz de Galicia, ”Initially I hope to join the group in September, later I need to gain pace and by October I should be playing. And in November I should be ay my best form. Truly the injures have affected me especially the pubalgy in my second season. I hope nothing serious will occur to me now, because I would kill myself. I just hope to be respected by injuries, this in order to return the love to the fans.”

Salomão stretched off last season at the beginning of the game against Hércules CF

Salomão also explained how easy the negotiations for his return were, ”Everything was fast. We talked when the season ended and now they phoned me and I didn’t think twice. I don’t know the new coach in person, but he phoned me in order to get interested in my situation and I expressed my will to play for Depor. I told him that I wanted to go to A Coruña and he replied that he counted with me.”

Last season, Salomão joined the team during the winter window and became into the most important player in attack, actually he was named as the player of February by the peña members, but on March 02, 2014 he sustained a serious injury at the beginning of the home game against Hércules CF.

The scans confirmed that the injury was serious: Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury (ACL); he was operated in March in Portugal and the player only returned to A Coruña in June in order to celebrate the promotion with his team mates.
