Víctor Fernández could end up making three changes ahead of Monday’s game against SD Eibar. Luis Fariña has been ruled out of the meeting, while Insua remains doubtful. Isaac Cuenca is fit to play.

Playmaker Luis Fariña has been ruled out of the visit to SD Eibar after picking a grade one muscle injury on the Obturator muscle (hip). The Argentine man picked the injury on Thursday and is already a doubt for next week game against Real Madrid. It means that coach Víctor Fernández will be forced to make at least one change compared to the team that drew with Rayo Vallecano.

But there could be more novelties, centre-back Pablo Insua (ankle) hasn’t trained on the week and seems improbable that he could play at Ipurúa. It will mean a second novelty in the lineup. A third change could occur up front and Hélder Postiga could make his debut replacing Toché.

Víctor Fernández didn’t test any specific draw during the week, though there was a session behind closed doors at the Riazor on Saturday. There are three choices. He could opt in keeping the 4-3-3, to return to the 4-2-3-1 or even use the 4-4-2 tested against Arousa during the week, though the last seems more improbable as it was an improvised draw after the last-minute casualty of Isaac Cuenca.

The former winger of Barcelona is already recovered from his ankle sprain and is set to start in the game; he should attack from the right wing, which opens the chance to see the return of Iván Cavaleiro on the left. Another alternative for the position is Luisinho.

The probable casualty of Insua won’t cause the same problems at the centre of the defense witnessed a fortnight ago, because Víctor Fernández signed to two centre-backs within the period. Sidnei Rechel should be the chosen one to join Albert Lopo, while Modibo Diakité will be on the bench. The rest of the team should be the same one of the previous match.
