Deportivo have been pretty active in the market closing three signings and three departures. The winter window closes its doors on Friday midnight and the club remains active. Depor are at least trying to sign a centre-back.

The winter window has been a busy period for Deportivo. The club has closed six operations so far; three players have joined the first team: striker Oriol Riera, midfielder Celso Borges and winger/playmaker Hélder Costa. At the same time three players left A Coruña: centre-back Modibo Diakité, right-back Diego Seoane and playmaker Juan Carlos.

But the market isn’t closed yet for the Galician club. The window will be closed on Friday midnight and, with one available spot at the first team, the club’s officials are searching for a centre-back. According to reports the main target is Iván Ramis (30, Wigan Athletic).

The club negotiated for the defender back in the summer window, something admitted by president Tino Fernández, now the key is to see the player canceling his contract with the Latics, something that seems difficult to occur.

For this reason there are other options. According to Radio Cadena Cope, Deportivo have other three targets and they named one of them: Borja López Menéndez, a 20-year-old centre-back that isn’t having too many minutes with AS Monaco.

And there could be more moves. The same Tino Fernández said in past weeks that the club was preparing a “master signing before January 31.” On Tuesday, newspaper La Voz de Galicia was remembering his words and assured that the club is working on this, though they didn’t give any name.

In case that Depor end making two more signings then at least one more player should leave. The only name mentioned so far as a possible exit is midfielder Cezary Wilk, though on last Saturday coach Víctor Fernández assured that it isn’t part of their plans.
