PREVIEW: BETIS - DEPORTIVO (LIGA 21h00)

13 Oct 2006
Deportivo travels tomorrow to Sevilla in order to face Betis. The Galician squad will try to achieve its first victory away from the Riazor and for this reason coach Caparr??s will present the same lineup that defeated Real Sociedad in the last liga confrontation. In Betis Irureta is preparing a striking zone composed of Robert de Pinho and Rafael Sob?s.

DEPORTIVO: REPEATING THE LINEUP
Joaqu?n Caparr??s will use the same squad that achieved the last victory in Riazor. Aouate will be the goalkeeper, the defensive line will be composed of Barrag??n on the right side, Capdevila on the left and the duo Arbeloa-Lopo on the centre. The Sevillan coach has used the same men in this sector of the field during the first six liga encounters, and he will continue to do so, at least until Andrade and Juanma are ready to return.

In midfield, Coloccini and Sergio will continue to cover the pivote functions. De Guzm??n and Duscher are injured and Caparr??s doesn't have a proper replacement for this game, maybe that's why he has included Iago and Verd?? to his list of called players. Both youngsters have already covered the spot during midweek friendlies.

The main doubt seemed to be in the winger positions, but Caparr??s has opted for a simple solution: to use the same duo that performed in the victory against Real Sociedad. This means that Filipe will play on the left wing and Arizmendi on the right. Cristian Hidalgo suffered a small injury on Thursday's friendly, but he will be on the bench.

Juan Rodr?guez will continue to cover the function of playmaker and Riki will act as the striker. The Madrilian scored his first official goal during the last game at the Riazor. Caparr??s has completed the list of called players with the following names: Mun??a, Manuel Pablo, Taborda, Cristian, Estoyanoff, Verd??, and Iago.

Dud?? Aouate said before the match that Depor's only intention is to achieve its first win away from Riazor: "Betis' stadium is really complicated, the fans support them and they have a strong squad, although they have been experiencing some problems. Betis have very good players, but our only objective is to achieve our first victory away from home; in this way everybody will be happy."

BETIS: IRURETA WANTS HIS SIXTH WIN AGAINST CAPARROS
Ex-Depor coach, Javier Irureta, is trying to bounce back with Betis. The Sevillan club has suffered four defeats in five games and they need the victory. But a home win will also mean an increase in the difference between Irureta and Caparr??s. So far Jabo has achieved five victories and only one defeat in this personal series.

In order to conquer the three points, Irureta will make three changes to the squad that suffered the last defeat against Recreativo. The first one is the appearance of Nano replacing Lembo in the centre of the defence. The second one is the presence of youngster Maldonado replacing Odonkor on the right wing.

Finally Jabo will play with the Brazilian duo Robert-Sob?s in the striking positions. This way Ed?? will perform on the left wing meaning that Wagner will start on the bench. Marcos Assun?§ao and Dani were left out since they aren't fit for this game.

Before the confrontation, central defender Juanito admitted that his team is under pressure, but he doesn't see this game as a final: "We might be hurried, but we can't think that the match with Deportivo is a final. To only have three points after five matches is a thing that puts some pressure on us, and now we need this three points. This is also a home game and we must give a good image in front of our fans."

Striker Robert de Pinho also gave his opinion about this confrontation: "We must be aggressive when we are playing at home, especially against a team like this one. Depor is a very difficult rival, but we must start to win matches. We have accumulated four defeats in just five matches, and there's a lot of pressure on us, but there's plenty of time. The important thing is to see the calm in the face of our fans, because we are calmed down."
