Important game at the Riazor between two teams living a poor moment, both sides are making changes as they are currently under fire due to their poor performance in recent games.

Back at the end of January, Córdoba CF were two points above relegation and the team was showing signs of reaction with the arrival of Miroslav Djukic, but suddenly they started to lose games and currently drag a mark of ten straight defeats. The worst mark in this century at Primera. Actually they have only added four points in 2015 and are now the bottom club seven points below the salvation.

No one have clinched the salvation before in la liga after suffering a streak of ten straight losses in any moment on the season. Off course the Andalusians present negative stats after this terrible run, something that includes to be the second worst offense with only 20 goals in favour and also the fourth worst defense with 46 goals allowed.

Depor arrive to the meeting trying to boost its flat home record. The Galicians have only added 16 points after 15 home matches, the worst part is that it has only added one point in their last three home meetings. A curious fact is that Los Blanquiazules represent the team that has allowed more goals playing at home (26).

Córdoba CF have always suffered playing at the Riazor, though last season they clinched their first victory in A Coruña at the beginning of the Segunda tournament (0-1). Before, they have suffered eleven defeats in thirteen liga encounters at the Riazor.

Once again coach Víctor Fernández is the centre of the attention and there are strong rumours pointing to his destitution in case of a new defeat. Once again the team is under fire after the worst streak on the season with seven straight games without a victory. The response to the latest setback against Getafe CF is to make five changes.

The coach had already announced changes before Sunday’s game, this since there are three matches in the week and he said that there will be a rotation in the roster for these meetings, though the modifications are also forced after the suspensions of Iván Cavaleiro and Lucas Pérez, duo that picked the fifth yellow on the season. Pablo Insua was also left out of the roster after his poor game against Getafe CF.

On Tuesday the team trained behind closed doors at the Riazor, Víctor didn’t give too many clues but for the important match against Córdoba four changes are expected, while two players are modifying their position on the field. The first novelty is the return of Albert Lopo. The Catalan joins Sidnei Rechel at the centre of the defence.

Juanfran Moreno, who performed as a right winger against Getafe CF, is moving back in order to cover the right side of the defence. Fabricio Agosto stays at the goal and Luisinho covers the left side.

Midfield is the only sector without changes as Álex BergantiñosCelso Borges play there.  There are novelties in the four offensive positions. Luis Fariña is moved to the centre in order to perform in the playmaking function, then José Rodríguez covers the right wing, Isaac Cuenca is the left winger and Toché is the centre forward.

Oriol Riera has been the starting choice in attack for the last eleven meetings, but now he’s losing the spot after missing two clear chances before Getafe CF. Meanwhile, Toché returns to the starting formation for the first time since January. His last appearance since the kick off was for the visit to Levante UD (January 09).

Three players are staying at the injury room: Hélder Postiga, Diogo Salomão and Cezary Wilk. Haris Medunjanin and Hélder Costa are back into the roster, while three players are out for tactical reasons: Pablo Insua, Roberto Canella and Borja López.

List of picked players (18): Fabricio, Lux (goalkeepers); Laure, Manuel Pablo, Juanfran, Lopo, Sidnei, Luisinho (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Juan Dominguez, José Rodríguez, Celso Borges, Medunjanin, Costa, Fariña, Cuenca (midfielders); Toché & Oriol Riera (attackers)

If Deportivo are now looking at every game as a final, then for Córdoba is a matter of life and death. The Andalusians cannot drop more points and the situation is more critical taking in mind they are facing a direct rival. The worst part is that coach José Antonio Romero is just arriving and he is beginning to assemble a team. So, he’s still trying to find the correct mixture just when there is no more time for experiments.

This is just his third game coaching the first team and already started to make decisions that are calling the attention, like leaving Nabil Ghilas out of the roster for the game at the Riazor. The Algerian attacker is the top-scorer at the team (7), but has been criticized due to his attitude and the coach left him out after not convincing in the second half against Atlético Madrid.

Veteran López Garai, with little participation on this season (only 347 minutes), is also out for tactical reasons, while centre midfielders David Omar ‘Deivid’ and Patrick Ekeng haven’t been part of the plans with the three coaches that have passed through the bench.  Argentine Bruno Zuculini arrived during the winter window and was blamed for one of the goals against Atlético, he was replaced early in the second half and it’s expected that he won’t play as a starter against Depor.

For the game against Depor it is expected a 4-2-3-1 figure, with Juan Carlos defending the goal, Uruguayan Adrián Gunino covers the right side of the defence, Brazilian Edimar Curitiba covers the left side, while the central positions are for Serbian Aleksandar Pantić and José Ángel Crespo.

Slovenian Rene Krhin and Abel Gómez are the centre midfielders, Argentine Fede Cartabria attacks from the right wing, Portuguese Tiago Manuel Dias ‘Bebe’ does it from the left, Borja García is the playmaker and Florin Andone is the centre forward. The Romanian earned a starting role in 2015 after not playing in liga during the first part of the season, and so far he has scored four goals, two of them within the last four liga meetings.

List of picked players (18): Juan Carlos, Saizar (goalkeepers); Gunino, Edimar, Campabadal, Pantic, Crespo (defenders); Luso, Krhin, Zuculini, Rossi, Abel, Borja, Fidel, Cartabia, Héldon, Bebé (midfielders); & Florin (attacker).
