Left-back Fernando Navarro is the second signing ahead of the season 2015/16. The former captain of Sevilla is signing a two-year contract with the option of an additional campaign at Deportivo.

Fernando Navarro is the newest player of Deportivo. The Catalan man cancelled his contract with Sevilla CF during the afternoon and only a couple of hours later it was announced that he was accepting the offer of Deportivo. The club confirmed that the left-back, who can also play at the centre of the defence, signs a two year contract with an option of an additional season.

Coach Víctor Sánchez Del Amo met the player during his stage as the second coach of Sevilla CF. Navarro completed 282 league appearances for Sevilla CF and was the captain of the team that won one Copa Del Rey and two UEFA Europa League tournaments (he joined that club in 2008).

The club informed that Navarro already completed the medicals and that the player will arrive to A Coruña on Tuesday. Now he and Luisinho will compete for the spot at the left side of the defense, and there’s a third choice for that position as Saúl Garcia was also signed for this season.

Precisely the two signings made by Depor so far are the left-back defenders. The operation of Saúl was previously confirmed in December. The club has also completed the renewals of Juan Dominguez and Manuel Pablo and will announce new signings in the coming days.
