Diogo Salomão & Sidnei are close to return to Deportivo, while the club is interested in the signing of veteran Cani and young Fede Cartabia. The Galicians need to reinforce the attacking positions.

August is around the corner and Deportivo are still trying to reinforce the attacking positions. The club is searching for wingers, a central attacker and one offensive midfielder. Within the last days three names have been linked with Depor.

The first one is a well-known face: Diogo Salomão. The left winger has played in four different seasons at Depor as a loanee from Sporting CP. Early on the week Portuguese paper A Bola reported that he had rescinded his contact with the Portuguese club and that the player was ready to negotiate with Deportivo.

But this information hasn’t been yet confirmed by the Portuguese club, so he remains to be a Sporting’s player (contract lasting until 2016).  Still, the club’s officials already stated that he would be welcome.

Rubén Gracia Calmache ‘Cani’ is the second name in the list, the 33-year-old veteran remains at Villarreal CF, but was already ruled out by coach Marcelino, actually he was loaned to Atlético Madrid on last season, but only played four times there (68 minutes).

Sportpaper AS reported that the playmaker received an offer from Depor and that he liked the proposition, but before he needs to rescind his contract, something that won’t be easy to negotiate as he still has a two-year-deal earning around one million euros per season. So, it seems a case in which Deportivo will have to wait some weeks.

The third name in this short list is Argentine winger/playmaker Federico Nicolás Cartabia, the 22-year-old player belongs to Valencia CF and played last season with Córdoba CF (24 games, 4 goals and 5 assists). The player was ruled out of the pre-season tour in China and it has been commented that Depor are interested in a loan operation.

Finally, a lot has been written about Sidnei Rechel; for weeks it was commented that the Brazilian defender was close to sign for Depor, but in the end nothing has happened. The last thing commented is coming from Radio Cadena Cope; according to them the centre-back was already in A Coruña on Tuesday and could sign for Depor on Wednesday; the conditions still to be revealed.
