Deportivo B rescued a point visiting one of the toughest rivals in the league; bad first half that was fixed with an exciting ending. Corredera scored again and Fabril are third at the standings.

Goalkeeper David Gómez was still off, so Ramón Rodríguez from Juvenil A stayed as the second goalie. Striker Borja Domingo was still sidelined, while Ben Fisk is taking part with U-23 Canada in the Olympics qualification tournament in CONCACAF. Marcos Legaz returned and went directly into the starting eleven Colombian Juan Otero was picked for the first time after signing at the end of last week.

The draw was a 4-2-3-1. Anxo Pérez was the keeper, Blas Alonso stayed at the right side in defense, Jorge Fernández returned to the left, the centre-backs were Iago López and Róber Suárez. Edu Expósito and Juan López were the centre midfielders, Ángel Fernández was the right winger, Álex Corredera was the playmaker, Marcos Legaz attacked from the left flank and Óscar Garcia was the centre forward.

The rival was CCD Cerceda, team that’s one of the favorites to end among the first four places and that currently was out of the promotion zone. Coach Ángel Cuellar has several ex-Depor members at the team, but only keeper Javi Rumbo and attacker Esteban Capelo were starters in the game.

Unpleasant game for Fabril, the team allowed a goal in the first play in the game and lasted in reacting before a rival that dominated, but that missed the needed punch to kill the game. Deportivo’s lads reacted until the second half and any side could have won the game after the chances had within the last fifteen minutes.

If at the beginning of the season Depor B dropped points after allowing goals in the stoppage time, now it ended allowing a goal in the first play in the match. It was a corner-kick by Álex Ares that Pablo Agulló found inside the area to put the ball at the back of the net.

Fabril were stunned, it never reacted before a rival that was having control of the actions but that never found the way to translate the dominion into more goals. To make things worse Legaz only lasted thirty minutes on the pitch (hamstring injury) and Colombian Juan Otero replaced him.

Capelo had two clear chances to score the second before the pause, both actions after been assisted by Álex Ares, the best player at the local team, but in both opportunities the attacker missed the ball, in the first he arrived late (24’) and in the second he slipped before Anxo (41’)

The second half followed the same script and Cerceda continued wasting the few chances that they had, the main two were a shot of Abelenda that passed over the crossbar (49’) and the second an attempt by Agulló that passed close to the far post (53’).

Mosquera tried to refresh the attack with Hugo Rama replacing Juan López, but the factor that helped to unclog a thick Fabril was the speed of Otero, pretty active in the second half. The Colombian joined the team at the end of last week and seemed settled to Spanish football.

And who saved the team, again, was Álex Corredera. The winger scored the equalizer with a perfectly executed free-kick. It’s his third goal on the season and second netted in set-pieces. The Catalan was one of the most active players in the second half, while this time Óscar didn’t have an impact in the actions. Portuguese Edu Expósito was another player shinning for Fabril; he was the motor at midfield and already settled to Tercera División.

The equalizer completely changed the game, Pancho CotosOtero, Hugo Rama and Corredera had chances for the visiting team, but local goalie Javi Rumbo made the saves.

And the clearest chance in this frame of the meeting was for CCD Cerceda, it happened two minutes before the final whistle after substitute Jonatan Martín hit the crossbar with a crossed shot from close range, the same player collected the loose ball and then he missed the target..

Fabril rescued a point after a poor first half; the team allowed an early goal and only reacted in the last stretch of the match. Corredera was a factor again and Colombian Juan Otero made a promising debut. Fabril are now third at the standings, two points behind surprising leader UD Barbadás and on Sunday the team hosts the current runners-up Rápido de Bouzas (Abegondo, 12h00 CET).

Comments by Manu Mosquera: "We came here in order to win. Winning here it would have meant to be up there and put some distance with Cerceda, but it was discouraging to allow a goal at minute 1, we controlled the ball and the game, I believe we were disconnected for some minutes and didn't manage to create big chances, but I believe that the 1-1 is fair. They didn’t find the second goal and barely had chances. We must valorize the fact of adding a point on here. We didn't create as many chances as in previous games, but it isn't easy against Cerceda. We were behind for almost 70 minutes and we knew how to react."
