Rotations at Depor as Víctor Sánchez tries to seize the advantage of the first-leg. The rival will also make changes, though it faces big problems in liga and also with the injuries.

With the 2-1 in the aggregate score, Depor only need a draw or even a 0-1 loss in this game to pass the tie (the away-goal rule is on). And Deportivo haven’t been eliminated from a two-leg series in Copa Del Rey after winning the first game playing on the road. In 21 opportunities the Galicians won the first duel playing away from home and never faced the elimination at home.

The previous opportunity in which Deportivo succeeded in the first game of a two-leg series playing on the road occurred twice for the season 2009/10, first the Galicians defeated Real Murcia (0-1 win at La Comdomina) in the last-32 round and later surprised Valencia CF at the Mestalla in the last-16 round (1-2).

The Blanquiazul outfit is trying to break a spell in this competition, because it has been unable to pass the last-32 round of Copa Del Rey during each one of the last four seasons. Three times the Galicians were eliminated in this round by a Primera side: Levante UD (2011/2012), RCD Mallorca (2012/2013) and Málaga CF (2014/2015), while in one opportunity it was eliminated in the previous round (third preliminary round) by a Segunda side: Real Jaén (2013/14).

Coach Víctor Sánchez announced more rotations in Copa, which are also evident taking in mind the names in the roster. Two names are highlighted in the possible starting eleven, the first one is Saúl García, who just played a few minutes in the first-leg and that will have his first chance to play as a starter performing at the left side of the defence.

The other name is Miguel Cardoso, who was the revulsive in the visit to FC Barcelona, performance that will be awarded with a second presence as a starter. He was commenting on Monday that the team cannot relax for having an advantage in the Copa series ”We achieved a good result, but we need to have continuity because we haven’t passed the tie. They will try to comeback and we will try to win, as always.”

It’s predicted a 4-2-3-1 figure that’s very similar to the one of the first-leg. There are two novelties, Luisinho is suspended, so Saúl enters the formation in order to perform at the left side of the defence, Manu is the goalkeeper, Laure will cover the right sector, while Fabril’s Róber Suárez Pier and Albert Lopo are the centre-backs.

Haris Medunjanin and Juan Dominguez are the centre midfielders, the second change is the entry of Luis Alberto in order to perform at the centre of the attack, this since Oriol Riera is out injured. Fayçal Fajr is the playmaker with Cardoso and Fede Cartabia performing at the wings.

Cartabia surpassed a groin issue, but Cani is out due to an ankle problem. The other players staying at the injury room are Celso Borges, Jonás Gutiérrez, Oriol Riera and Fabricio. Normal starters Lucas Pérez and Sidnei Rechel were picked for the match, but it isn’t expected that they will play. Fabril’s winger Óscar ´Pinchi´ García was also picked for the game and could be making his official debut with the first team.

List of picked players (18): Lux, Manu (goalkeepers); Manuel Pablo, Laure, Sidnei, Lopo, Róber, Saúl García (defenders); Juan Domínguez, Fayçal Fajr, Medunjanin, Mosquera, Cartabia, Oscar García, Cardoso (midfielders); Lucas Pérez, Jonathan Rodríguez & Luis Alberto (attackers)

Los Blanquivermells lost during the weekend before Segunda leaders Córdoba CF (0-2), it’s their 11 loss after 15 matchdays and are currently  in relegation, just only two points away from the last place. And with the disadvantage in the tie they see things really difficult at the Riazor, actually coach Oriol Alsina labeled the game as an” impossible mission”.

To make things worse the injuries have been affecting the squad, to the point that men that aren’t at their best were picked for this game, this in order to fill up the gaps. That’s the case of centre-back Fran Cruz, who was a starter in the first match and that was picked despite been dragging a knock.

The coach will use the less habitual men, but will also play with normal starters in some specific positions as even the substitutes are injured. It’s predicted a 4-4-2 draw, with Argentine Nico Ratti covering the goal, Jordi Masóperforms at the right side in defence, Jorge García and Aimar Moratalla are the centre-backs, while loanee from Córdoba CF Samu de Los Reyes plays at the left.

Enric Pi and Josep María Comadevall ´Pitu’ are the centre midfielders, Alberto Ortiz ´Tito’ attacks from the right wing, Brazilian Givanildo Pulgas ‘Giva’ does it from the left, while David Querol and Brazilian Thiago Rodrigues ‘Mosquito’ are the centre forwards.

Mosquito has barely played on the Segunda season, while Querol has scored twice in twelve presentations. Pitu is the set-pieces specialist and is one of the four players at the squad with three goals added to his tally.

List of picked players (18): Ratti, Moragón (goalkeepers); Aimar Moratalla, Masó, Fran Cruz, Pi, Jorge García & Samu de Los Reyes (defenders); Escassi, Ríos, Jordi López, Pitu, Tito, Giva (midfielders); Mosquito, Imaz, Juanto & Querol (attackers)

Deportivo: (4-2-3-1) Manu – Laure, Róber, Lopo, Saúl – Medunjanin, Juan Domínguez – Cartabia, Fajr, Cardoso – Luis Alberto.
Llagostera: (4-4-2) Ratti - Masó, Jorge, Aimar, Samu - Tito, Pitu, Pi, Giva – Mosquito, Querol.
Referee: Iñaki Vicandi Garrido
Kick-off: 20h00 CET (Riazor)
