Depor’s coach was aware of the problems faced in the second leg in Copa Del Rey, while the players admitted that they suffered and also believe that the penalty shouldn’t have been called.

Coach Víctor Sánchez explained the problems that his team had during the match at the Riazor, “The game was complicated before the start, because the rival anticipated that nothing was at stake and came here in order to enjoy of a Primera scenario. Experience tells me that these situations are dangerous as it drives you to relaxation. It isn’t the kind of game that hooks up the fans as we are used, fortunately, at the Riazor, and this cold environment is dangerous, it wouldn’t be the first time that a tie is overturned.”

“We tried to prepare the game studying the rival and previewing tactical variations watching their games against Córdoba and Zaragoza, but we found a Llagostera that defended pretty well and that created problems as we lacked patience. We attacked with the wingers as they were solid at the centre, and we were losing the ball there, something that created difficulties due to the lack of patience. Besides, when you have chances and the ball doesn’t enter then you think that it won’t be easy.” He added.

Despite the problems the Madrilenian manager was satisfied as he thinks that it was a good result under the circumstances, “The goal brought tranquility, but then that goal arrived and things were complicated. Things were complicated and you are uncertain within the last minutes as the result was equal. But we are content for passing the tie under circumstances that we understood that weren’t easy.”

He denied that Eibar are going to use a similar tactic on Saturday, “I don’t think so, because we have watched Eibar several times and it is a team that presses up front and behaves in a different way to today’s rival. We congratulated Llagostera for the tie, especially for the game they played on here.”

Finally, Víctor admitted that there was uncertainty at the end of the match, though he didn’t’ think the result was in danger, “Not in danger, but the uncertainty of the result in the last minutes was there. The goal lasted in arriving, if we would have scored with the chances we had before, then probably we could have witnessed a more open game, even with more goals, but that goal in a penalty brought uncertainty and one more goal would have led the game to the extra time, but it wasn’t like that.”

Róber made his second official appearance with the team, he commented that, “Yes, I am content because every minute in an official competition is gold and I am happy for passing the tie. The other day the game was different as it wasn’t clear who was going to be eliminated, now the game was tough as they entered the tie, especially at the end. We had to suffer there.”

The centre-back was also commenting what happed in the penalty awarded to Llagostera, “The penalty made us suffer. They grew up in the game and their counterattacks were tough. I was there for the penalty, but it is a matter of the referee, so I cannot tell you.”

Manuel Pablo admitted that Depor lived a bad moment at the end of the meeting, “I believe we suffered, because we didn’t know how to read the game properly. We lost the ball too many times and in the end they locked us up. In the end we fixed the problems, but we ended with a bad taste in the mouth.”

The Canarian veteran also explained his feelings after playing for the first time on the season, “I am happy for playing and will try to bring things to the team. I spent a lot of time without playing, since the game with Levante. I didn’t know if I was going to last the full ninety minutes, but was fine and tried to help the team as I could.”

Juan Dominguez said that the goal was to pass the tie and not to win the game, “The target wasn’t that, but to pass the tie and we did it, so we are content for that. We knew it was going to be complicated. They are a professional team and as professionals we knew they were coming for everything, when players without minutes are performing then they always want to do the right things and demonstrate to the coach that they are valid.”

He scored the goal, but also committed the penalty that meant the tie. He was insisting that there was no penalty in that action, “I believe that yes, there was a mistake. We all make mistakes and cannot say more. The true is that the rival sought for me, the boots brushed each other and nothing more.”

About his goal, the Galician midfielder said that, “It is something positive as it helped us to pass the tie, in the end it is the important thing. In an individual sense I am happy for helping the team with a goal. The final goal should be to see the team fine and achieving the permanence.”

At UE Llagostera, Oriol Alsina was comparing the result to Depor’s draw at the Camp Nou, “For us to draw on here is like the draw of Depor in the field of Barcelona. I’m proud and also screwed, because in Copa we defeated Zaragoza and drew on here, but cannot add points on the road playing for la liga. Football is like this and the result is reinforcing us. To draw on here and against this team it is something that will go into the history of Llagostera.”

He also told to reporters that they will insist in the signing of Saul Garcia, who they tried to sign on loan during the summer window, “We are insisting with Saúl. We met him at Racing and for us it would be important. We are a very humble club, clean, but cannot afford to pay the price of these players, so we give him a place where he can play. Let’s see if Depor has a gesture.”
