Víctor isn’t thinking of Real Madrid or his renewal and prefers to focus in this game; the coach of Mirandés doesn’t think that the rotations are an important factor in this match.

Carlos Terrazas Sánchez is a veteran trainer better known for his stage at CD Guadalajara. The Basque man has been the coach of Bilbao Athletic –Athletic B- in two different opportunities (1996-99 & 2001-02). Besides working with Athletic B and CD Guadalajara, he has coached other eight clubs, and before 2007 his only success was to achieve the promotion to Segunda A with Burgos CF, it was during the season 2000/01.

His golden period started in 2007 after joining Andalusian club Real Jaen CF; club that he put at the promotion playoff to Segunda A, later he resigned due to a health problem and returned to work one year later taking the job at f CD Guadalajara, club that he surprisingly promoted to Segunda División. It was after an impressive second round at Segunda B, which included a comeback in the final playoff series against CD Mirandés. Thanks to him the club from Castile-La Mancha reached the second division of Spain for the first time in their history.

Terrazas stayed there for three years and resigned after CD Guadalajara were demoted due to an administrative problem. Ironically he ended signing for CD Mirandés, which was his big rival in the promotion playoff. He was hired as the head coach on December 17, 2014 after Gonzalo Arconada was fired due to the poor results. Since then he has kept the team out of relegation and now it is close to the promotion seats. This is his first meeting against Víctor Sánchez.

Depor’s coach addressed the media on Tuesday’s noon, he talked to reporters for eight minutes. He started talking of the difficulty of the tie, “We are hopeful of the Copa. We are sure that it will be a very difficult tie, because Mirandés is a competitive team, capable of brining problems to any kind of system no matter is playing at home or away, and the idea is that it’s a demanding tie that lasts 180 minutes as the rival will bring a lot of problems. We are hopeful of the Copa and want to pass the round.”

“The tie lasts 180 minutes, and it’s important to clinch the best possible result in the first-leg, and we are going to try it, but no matter what happens the tie will remain open for the second-leg, because Mirandés is a team that, at home or away, competes at the same level.” He added.

Then the Madrilenian analyzed the playing style of Mirandés, “It’s a competitive and intense team, they like to press up front and play in the attacking half, using the direct game so the ball will always be close to the rival’s goal and then search for vertical attacks and quick plays, plus fast transitions. Those are the characteristics. It will force us to have the maximum tension and to be focused in the dispute of secondary plays. It’s a very demanding tie and we are going fully focused as it is a competition that matters to us.”

Víctor was explaining that the expected changes shouldn’t affect the performance of the team, “There will be changes as it happened in the past round, because we rely in the players, because they demonstrate it daily with the work they are doing and we understand that we are preparing a solid team according to what we need.”

Depor’s coach also explained why Stipe Pletikosa wasn’t picked for the match, “The transfer of Pletikosa hasn’t arrived, so he is not available yet. It’s a matter of the holidays. We understand it is an issue caused by the current dates.”

He was asked in several opportunities about Real Madrid and the arrival of Zidane, but he didn’t want to talk of the issue and only affirmed that Deportivo are only focused in Copa, “Our dynamic is the same and the mechanism is established. We are always only focused in the next game, so since the first training we are only thinking of Mirandés. We will have time to talk of the circumstances, but for now the tie in Copa is the only thing in our minds.”

Finally, Víctor talked of his renewal after president Tino Fernández announced that it will be sealed on next week. In the end he didn’t want to give too much information about it, “Nothing is sealed, but if the president announced it then I guess that we will talk on next week. Nothing more to say, though I am enchanted with the words of the president. The fans should remain calm, because if both sides are in the same line then it is a matter of time.”

Mirandés’ coach addressed the media on Tuesday’s noon.  He started talking of Gorka Tijera, who isn’t expected to be a starter in the game, “He is already recovered; perhaps he is a little short about his preparation. He could play, but as I said before, he is short of preparation.” He also confirmed the status of the rest of the team, “Everybody is fine except Corral, who hardly will be ready for tomorrow.”

Then he talked of Depor, “We all know that Deportivo is a well-organized team, a team that in a collective sense it is working fine. It’s hard to score against them and they only lost a few games. They have important individualities and are completing a good season.”

The Basque man didn’t give importance to the expected changes at Depor’s lineup and the absence of Lucas, “Well, we also changed a lot of players and eliminated Málaga. It’s something habitual in this competition. I don’t know their intentions about the lineup, I guess they will make changes, but it is a matter of having a global view in order to face the game. I watched the game Málaga – Deportivo and both are similar teams, so I guess the ties could be similar. Logically we hope to repeat the result, but it will be very difficult because it was neither easy to eliminate Málaga.”

Finally, Terrazas explained what Mirandés must do in order to win the match, “We will have to put the pace and rule over the field, it is what we have to do, what happens is that it won’t be easy as in front we will have a team that will try to do the same. We will try to go to the Riazor with a good result, anything related to a victory it is a good result.”
