Celta is arriving to the derby in the middle of a complicated moment. They lost against Recreativo de Huelva on the past weekend leaving a poor image in front of the fans. The situation is now worse since coach Fernando V??zquez could have at least six absences for the visit to Riazor. Besides Celta is missing three players for international duty, meanwhile goalkeeper Pinto has traveled in order to receive the Zamora trophy in Madrid.

Coach Fernando V??zquez has six secure casualties for the match against Deportivo. Five players are injured: George Lucas (broken foot), Daniel de Ridder (knee), Pablo Garc?a (thigh), Antonio Guayre (muscular injury) and Mat?as Lequi (thigh). Meanwhile Gabriel Tamas is suspended for the match with Deportivo (he was sent off against Recreativo). The five injured players are long and mid-term casualties. The worst case is George Lucas who will miss the rest of the season, while Pablo Garc?a and Lequi will be out for a month.

But Celta has also other doubts for Sunday's game. Antonio N???ez (knee), Gustavo L??pez (muscular problems) and Diego Placente (ankle) have been out of the training sessions during the last days, and it seems that they won't be ready to face Deportivo. These three players will try to pass new tests at the end of the week, and then it will be known if they are ready to appear.

This situation is giving a serious problem to Fernando V??zquez. The solid performance showed by Celta during the away games has been based in their defensive line. The absences of Tamas, Lequi and Placente would leave this sector without three important pieces. At least the offensive line is intact since the Brazilian duo Baiano-Nen? is ready to play. These two players have scored 7 of the 14 goals of Celta after ten matches in la liga.

A new complication for Fernando V??zquez has been caused by this week's international games. Two players are concentrated with Spain (Borja Oubi?a and ?ngel L??pez), while Fabi??n Canobbio has traveled to Uruguay for the same reason. Besides Jos? Manuel Pinto traveled to Madrid since he has received the 2005/2006 edition of the Zamora trophy, this award is given by sportpaper Marca to the keeper that has allowed less goals during a season. These absences means that V??zquez will not have a complete squad to prepare the derby until Saturday.

But this situation is also affecting Deportivo. Coach Caparr??s is missing seven players for international duty: Aouate (Israel), Lopo (Spain), Capdevila (Spain), Andrade (Portugal), De Guzm??n (Canada), Estoyanoff (Uruguay) and Arizmendi (Spain). At least the injuries aren't a serious thing for Caparr??s. Only Duscher has been added to the list of long-term casualties already conformed by Valer??n, Pablo Alvarez and Bodipo. Although Javier Arizmendi got injured with the national team of Spain, is expected that he will be ready to the derby.
