Transfer news

28 Nov 2006
The transfer window will open its doors at the end of December, and Deportivo seems to be one of the clubs that will participate on it. The names of Braulio and Santi Ezquerro have been mentioned as possible incorporations, while De Guzm??n, Duscher and Adri??n seems to be the main candidates to leave the club.

Coach Caparr??s already confessed that he is searching for a striker in countries like Brazil or Portugal, he is even searching in Segunda. The Sevillan coach also said that this new player should be a 'long-term bet' and not a 'six-month solution'. In other words, he wants a young player with a promising future. The same Caparr??s admitted that it will be difficult to find a striker with that profile, specially because of the financial situation in Deportivo.

But it seems that the club's officials have found what they wanted: Braulio Nobrega Rodr?guez 'Braulio' (21). The Canarian is a striker that belongs to Atl?©tico Madrid. He debuted in Primera with the Madrilian club in October of 2004 (he played 10 games in the season 2004/2005). But as it happened with Arizmendi, there wasn't room for him in the first squad. He was sent on loan to Mallorca for the 2005/2006 campaign and had a very poor participation in Gregorio Manzano's team: only 51 minutes in two games.

Braulio returned to Madrid and immediately, he was sent on loan to UD Salamanca in Segunda. It was then when the Canarian striker started to shine. After 14 matchdys, Braulio has scored 7 goals and occupies the second place in the table of goal scorers in Segunda. He has been also part of Spain's U-20 squad. Braulio has been described as a striker that doesn't shines for his technique, but that is very physical and that helps to put pressure to the defenders.

The Canarian ends his contract with Atl?©tico Madrid in 2008, but according to newspapers La Voz de Galicia and AS, Depor already reached an agreement for the player. It seems that the transfer would cost €2 million to Lendoiro. It has been also reported that the agent of the player, Juanma L??pez, has received an offer that includes a five-year contract in Deportivo. The main problem right now is that Caparr??s wants the player for January, but Braulio still has a loan contract with Salamanca until June. The president of that club, Angel Mazas, is very upset with the situation: "If they are negotiating at our back, they aren't respectful persons. The money isn't worthy in this case. Braulio will not go out until June since we have a contract that was signed. I will defend the honour of Salamanca."

It seems clear that Caparr??s has put his eyes on Braulio. Rumours in Salamanca even says that the Sevillan was the one that phoned personally Braulio in order to inform him about the interest of Depor. But the main question is to know if Caparr??s will wait until June for the Canarian striker in case that Salamanca maintains its position.

According to La Voz de Galicia, one of the alternatives that have been studied is to offer a player to Salamanca in order to cover the hole, the name of that player is Adri??n L??pez. The youngster would be sent in a long spell until the end of the present season, and could compensate the exit of an important player in Salamanca. Caparr??s has said that Adri??n is a striker that still under formation and this experience should be helpful for him. Besides it has to be remembered that Adri??n hasn't been called for the last two liga matches, a sign that demonstrates that Caparr??s might me protecting the Asturian in order to avoid injuries.

Other name that has been mentioned as a target is Santi Ezquerro (29). The Basque winger hasn't enjoyed of too many changes in Barcelona and his possible exit isn't a surprise. A Galician radio reported that Deportivo has asked about his situation. However, it has been also reported that Real Sociedad has presented an important offer for Ezquerro.

The possible exit of Adri??n to Salamanca isn't the only probable departure during the winter market. It's already know that Aldo Duscher will go out during the next season since his contract is expiring in June, and Lendoiro will have the last chance to gain some money with him. It's very probable that Depor's president will try to offer Duscher to the Premiership's clubs during the next days.

And the second name in the list of exits should be reserved for Juli??n de Guzm??n. The Canadian hasn't played a single minute on this liga season, and he had a very sincere conversation with newspaper La Voz de Galicia: "I need to play, so I will try to go out in a long spell during January. Everything can change in football, for that reason I need to be positive and move quickly during the winter market. If I have a clear opportunity to play, I will take advantage of it." However, the Canadian also said that there isn't any offer at this point for him.
