A depressed Deportivo visit one of the candidates to the title. Garitano is making changes at the lineup. Atlético is more pending of the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Referee: Jesús Gil Manzano
Kick-off: 16h15 CET (Vicente Calderón)

Depor have been unable to defeat Atlético Madrid during the last twelve visits to the Vicente Calderón stadium, actually the Galician side lost the last ten games played there and in the last five it was even unable to score a goal. The last win at the Calderón took place for the campaign 1999/2000 (1-3).

At the same time Deportivo only clinched one victory in the last fourteen liga meetings with the Madrilenians; that win occurred at the Riazor for the season 2009/10. It was a 2-1 victory with goals scored by Andrés Guardado and Diego Colotto

Another terrible record of the Galicians is the fact of only scoring three goals in the first five games, it’s currently the work mark in la liga and the third worst mark in the history of the club competing at the elite after the seasons 1966/67 (1) and 1964/65 (2).

The optimism of the fans has been wiped away in a matter of weeks, the exit of Lucas Pérez, the unexpected injuries of Sidnei and Joselu, plus the defeats with Athletic Club and CD Leganés changed the mood regarding a team that’s now leaving the impression of not been ready to compete at the elite.

To make things worse coach Gaizka Garitano has been forced to make adjustments just when the calendar is tighter, and since the solutions aren’t arriving it leaves an additional impression of uncertainty as the team struggles after only adding a point within the last three games. Now Depor face one of the toughest games on the season.

Team news:  Winger Carles Gil is the last addition to the injury room. Sidnei and Joselu remains sidelined. Álex Bergantiños and Rubén Martínez are the two players out for tactical reasons, so the coach is repeating the same roster of the previous meeting with CD Leganés, but won’t repeat the lineup as he announced changes for the game.

Man to watch: Winger/playmaker Emre Çolak, the performance of the Turkish is among the few things to be saved from the defeat against CD Leganés, now he is set to appear for the second time as a starter in a lineup that won’t suffer too many changes.

Picked players: (18) Lux, Tytoń (goalkeepers); Laure, Juanfran, Arribas, Navarro, Albentosa, Luisinho (defenders); Borges, Pedro Mosquera, Çolak, Fajr, Guilherme, Bruno Gama (midfielders); Borja Valle, Ryan Babel, Marlos Moreno & Florin Andone (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Lux – Juanfran, Albentosa, Arribas, Navarro – Guilherme, Mosquera – Bruno Gama, Fajr, Çolak - Andone.

Coach Diego Simeone is not happy as his team is playing on Sunday, and the reason is because they host Bayern Munich for the Champions League on Wednesday and that game is influencing in the meeting with Depor. The Argentine coach will continue with his policy of rotations, which is to rest one or two players per match. After resting Juanfran against Sporting Gijón, now it is the time for Saúl Ñíguez. So, Depor are still going to find a strong team that remains as one of the three sides that haven’t been defeated yet in liga.

Team news: Three players are out for injury reasons: attacker Alessio Cerci, goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Moyá (both knee) and midfielder Tiago Mendes (thigh). Saúl Ñíguez, one of the five men at Atlético that have played all the possible minutes on this season, has been rested and wasn’t included in the roster for the game.

Man to watch: Attacker Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman is on fire and continues to be considered as one of the top players in Europe. Currently he is one of the five men that have scored four goals in this start of la liga (the other four are Gerard Moreno, Rubén Castro, Messi and Luis Suárez). He also provided an assist and has scored three goals in his last four meetings with Depor.

Picked players: (19) Oblak, Moreira (goalkeepers); Juanfran, Giménez, Godín, Savić, Lucas, Filipe Luis, Šime Vrsaljko (defenders); Gabi, Augusto, Koke, Thomas, Gaitán, Carrasco (midfielders); Correa, Fernando Torres, Griezmann & Gameiro (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Oblak – Juanfran, Savić, Godín, Filipe – Gaitán, Gabi, Koke, Carrasco – Griezmann, Gameiro.
