Babel returns and Andone is available in what could be the last game of Garitano at Depor. The rival is one of the most in-form teams in the competition.

Referee: José Luis Munuera Montero
Kick-off: 20h450 CET (Riazor)

Real Sociedad represent the second most in-form team in liga, within the previous six matchdays they clinched five victories and one draw, which meant to add sixteen points, in that same period only Real Madrid added more points (18)

Meanwhile, Depor is the second most out-form team in la liga together with Real Sociedad, this after only adding two points within the last six matchdays; both Galicians and Asturians, together with Granada CF, are the only sides that have been unable to win in the previous six matchdays.

Also, Deportivo have been unable to defeat Real Sociedad within the last six meetings between both clubs, with the last four been draws. The last time the Galicians defeated the Basques was for the Primera season 2010/11 with goals scored by Riki and Adrián (2-1, March 07, 2011)

After only winning twice within the first thirteen matchdays, coach Gaizka Garitano is at the edge of destitution and this should be his last opportunity. During the week, president Tino Fernández demined that there’s an ultimatum over the coach, but also said that results are what mark the future. The Basque man is boosted by the return of Ryan Babel, though he also loses Bruno Gama.

Team news: Florin Andone passed the test on Sunday’s morning and was included in the list for the game. Borja Valle (quadriceps) and Ryan Babel (Soleus) are fit to play before the expectations, but only the latter is in the roster and should be a starter. The only players at the injury room are right-back Laure and right winger Bruno Gama. The other two players out for tactical reasons are midfielder Álex Bergantiños and goalkeeper Rubén Martínez

Man to watch: Striker Florin Andone. The Romanian is finally finding himself on the pitch after netting goals in three straight matchdays and it’s the main hope to get the so needed victory.

Picked players: (18) Tytoń, Lux (goalkeepers); Juanfran, Arribas, Albentosa, Sidnei, Navarro, Luisinho (defenders); Borges, Pedro Mosquera, Çolak, Guilherme, Fajr, Carles Gil (midfielders); Joselu, Marlos Moreno, Babel & Florin Andone (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Tytoń – Juanfran, Albentosa, Sidnei, Luisinho – Borges, Guilherme– Carles Gil, Çolak, Babel - Andone.

The Basques have completed good seasons lately and are currently a clear candidate for the European seats, and they continue to rely in the same formula mixing some international and quality players with talent from Zubieta, their glorious academy. Just to point out that 14 of the 25 players inscribed at the first team are coming out from their academy.

Contrary to the current situation at Deportivo, with Garitano unable to repeat a lineup yet during this season, coach Eusebio Sacristán already found a starting team as he has repeated the same lineup in four of the last six matches. In this game he is forced to make changes as midfielder David Zurutuza is injured, Esteban Granero should replace him.

Team news: David Zurutuza wasn’t fit to play and joined Markel Bergara, Gaztañaga, Agirretxe and Rubén Pardo as the players out for injury reasons. Mikel Oyarzabal passed a late test and will be a starter.

Man to watch: Striker Willian José. One of the bets of Real Sociedad for this season, the Basques paid €6 million for the 70% of his rights and the Brazilian has responded with seven goals scored in eleven presentations, four of those goals came within the last five liga meetings, including the goal that meant the equalizer before FC Barcelona on the previous matchday.

Picked players: (19) Rulli, Toño Ramírez (goalkeepers); Carlos Martínez, Zaldua, Mikel, Iñigo Martínez, Raúl Navas, Yuri (defenders) Illarramendi, Granero, Canales, Xabi Prieto, Oyarzabal, Juanmi (midfielders); Carlos Vela, Concha, Willian José., Zubeldia & Bautista (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-3-3) Rulli - Carlos Martínez, Raúl Navas, Íñigo Martínez, Yuri - Illarramendi, Xabi Prieto, Granero - Vela, Oyarzabal, Willian José.
