Depor is now the team that has lost more games after been winning at some point. The performance of the midfielders is what marked the difference between both halves, while the defence committed few errors, but it cost the game.

1- Two different halves: The centre midfielders marked the difference between a good Deportivo in the first half and the discrete impression of the second part. Borges and Guilherme were great at the beginning and hold on a team that caused a lot of problems to Athletic, basically they did two things: they blocked Beñat and later allowed a better ball possession that granted to have so many opportunities in the first part.

But for the second half things changed drastically, the duo faced problems passing the ball and therefore the team lost the offensive impulse of the first part; actually, the second goal of Athletic came after Borges lost the ball at midfield.

2- Missed chances by Andone: Not the best game by Florin Andone. The top-scorer at Depor had two clear chances in the first half and he missed both. A 2-0 lead by half-time might have made the difference in this game. The Romanian made 4 of the 8 shots that Depor had in this meeting, but only one of them was on target.

3- Connection Çolak-Andone Emre Çolak is the most talented man at Deportivo, and with the effectiveness of Andone in mind, Garitano has an interesting combination for the goals, but in this game both men only combined once. It was at minute 26 after a local error in the output of the ball, Çolak assisted Andone and the striker tried a drilling shot that was blocked by Iraizoz.

4- Kakuta and Ola John: A lot is expected from Gaël Kakuta, in this game the French winger left glimpses of his class as it happened against SD Eibar, but nothing determinant. He seems to be needing more time to be totally fit. He was replaced by Ola John, who became the 448th player that debuts with Depor at Primera, also without having any impact in the match.

5- Tytoń and the defence: The fans complained about the way Tytoń tried to save the header of Aduriz in the first goal. He could have tried to hold on the ball or at least to clear it to one side, but instead only tried to stop it and the loose ball was collected by Muniain for the equalizer.

Error of not the true is that the whole defence made a solid game, only tainted by a couple of errors that unfortunately cost both goals. In the first the action of Tytoń was also joined by the slowness of Navarro to mark Muniain. In the second the slip of Borges was joined by the fact that no one wanted to foul Muniain when he tried to penetrate by the left side of the area.

6- Error by the referee?: A lot of complaints about the position of Aduriz in the second goal, the true is that even with slow motion and the photos from the action it’s hard to tell if the striker was offside or not, and the rule says that in case of doubt the referee should allow the game to continue.

7- Fifth time losing the advantage: Deportivo is now the Primera team that has lost more games after been leading in the scoresheet at some point. This was the fifth time with the Galicians losing a game after been leading in the scoresheet: CD Leganés (from 1-0 to 1-2); Sevilla CF (from 2-0 to 2-3); Málaga CF (from 0-1 to 4-3), Real Madrid (from 1-2 to 2-3) and Athletic Club (from 0-1 to 2-1).
