Deportivo search to secure the permanence playing three of the remaining six games on next week; Pepe Mel only has Mosquera out for injury reasons, but faces three suspensions for the visit to Real Sociedad.

Six games are remaining in la liga and Deportivo will play the half of those meetings in a frame of eight days, so the team could be already saved on next Sunday or instead it could still be involved in the fight to avoid demotion. On this Sunday the Galicians visit Real Sociedad (Anoeta, 12h00 CET). Then, on Wednesday, Los Blanquiazules host Real Madrid (Riazor, 21h30 CET), and close the busy week visiting CA Osasuna on next Sunday (El Sadar, 12h00 CET).

Coach Pepe Mel has practically a healthy squad, but will face problems in the first game due to the suspensions. And it’s that centre-back Alejandro Arribas, centre midfielder Guilherme and winger Carles Gil picked their fifth yellow card on the season in the meeting with Málaga CF.

Meanwhile, centre midfielder Pedro Mosquera underwent new scans and it was detected that his previous muscle injury on the right thigh isn’t healed yet, so the doctors decided to stop and he won’t play anymore unless the coach and the player decide that his participation in necessary. For now, he won’t be available for the visit to Real Sociedad.

This means that Mel has exactly nineteen players available for this Sunday’s game (including three keepers), Fernando Navarro joined the group after been out for a month due to a thigh problem. Centre-back Sidnei Rechel and winger Gaël Kakuta were rested during the week, but they should be fit to play on Sunday; actually they were tested as starters during Thursday.

The rivals are facing different situations, from a Real Madrid that’s caressing the title to a CA Osasuna that’s about to confirm it’s demotion. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad need the points to continue aspiring to Europe. Coach Eusebio Sacristánhas two long-term injuries:  right-back Carlos Martínez (knee) and striker Imanol Agirretxe (ankle), while right-back Álvaro Odriozola (groin) and midfielder Mikel González (illness) are doubtful.

In the case of Real Madrid, it’s difficult to figure out what coach Zinedine Zidane will plan for the Riazor. They could practically secure the title in la liga if they defeat FC Barcelona on this Sunday, and therefore he could rest players on Wednesday ahead of the Champions League semi-finals against Atlético Madrid. For now Los Blancos are dealing with three important casualties: centre-backs Pepe (ribs fracture) and Raphaël Varane (thigh), plus winger Gareth Bale (muscle).

At CA Osasuna, Los Rojillos could be already relegated at the moment of hosting Depor, this if they lose the next two games or if CD Leganés and Deportivo add points.  To make things worse coach Petar Vasiljević is facing a plague of injuries, to the point that he has only be training with sixteen men during the week. Among the most important casualties are centre-back Tano Bonnín (fibula fracture), right-back Javier Flaño, centre-back Miguel Flaño (both knee ligaments), attacker Emmanuel Rivière (muscle) and centre midfielder Didier Digard (knee). Oriol Riera will also be out until May after picking an adductor muscle injury during the week, though he cannot play against Depor for been his parent club.
