MARKET: THREE NAMES ON THE SPOTLIGHT

15 Jun 2017
Deportivo are negotiating the continuity of Juanfran and Guilherme, the duo should stay though the first has offers, while Fayçal Fajr is on the door out.

Slow start in the summer market of Deportivo. The club has been linked with many names, but the most imminent cases that can be resolved are the ones of players that were already in A Coruña during the season that has just ended.

Juanfran Moreno and Guilherme dos Santos are ending their loan spells and it’s clear that they club wants to extend their continuity paying he buyout clause in their loan contracts. In the case of the Madrilenian right-back, the option with Watford is for €900,000.

Depor will pay the clause in the coming weeks and the defender will start the pre-season with the first team despite the continuous rumours pointing out that some Turkish clubs are interested in him. The club already agreed the terms of a new contract with Juanfran and this new deal stipulates a release option of €8 million. The latest rumour is that Galatasaray are offering €5 million plus bonuses and that they have reached an agreement with the player for a three-year deal.

About Guilherme, the buyout option with Udinese was expiring today and it was for €5 million. Depor already knew that they wanted the midfielder back, but there was a delay as the Galicians and the Italian club were negotiating the number of payments to be made. According to TVG the agreement was reached on Wednesday and an official announcement is expected soon.

About Fayçal Fajr, he should be the first confirmed exit. Radio Cadena Ser reported that the club and the agents of the Moroccan midfielder already agreed that he will leave during the summer. Fajr isn’t happy with his role at Deportivo and is searching for another club, his contract ends in 2018 and currently his agents are searching for options. Depor intend to collect something, but it cannot be ruled out the option that he could end rescinding.
