First defeat on the season for Fabril, the team never felt comfortable before a more experienced rival and only had scoring opportunities after the entry of Romay.

Coach Cristobal Parralo recovered Edu Expósito for the meeting, the midfielder wasn’t picked for the Primera match at Levante UD and was a starter this time. Th only player out of the clash was attacker Jardel, who seems close to go out on loan.

The lineup was a 4-2-3-1 with Álex Cobo covering the goal, Blas Alonso performed at the right-back position, Steve One and Quique Fornos were the centre-backs, Lucas Viña performed on the left. Edu Expósito and Álvaro Queijeiro were the centre midfielders, Óscar García attacked from the right wing. Martin Bengoa was the playmaker, Borja Galán performed on the left wing and Uxio Dapena was the centre forward.

The rival was UD San Sebastián Los Reyes (also known as Sanse), a club from Madrid that aspires to the promotion playoff. The coach is Alfredo Santa Elena, the one that scored the goal that gave the first Copa Del Rey to Deportivo. Among his most important players are former Atlético B striker Rubén Mesa and former Leganés winger Fer Ruiz.

Deserved defeat for Fabril, the team never knew how to neutralize the superiority of a rival that had the ball and the best chances. The reaction only arrived when the lads were already losing, but they weren’t able to capitalize the opportunities.

Sanse had the ball possession since the kick-off, Fabril’s midfielders had bid problems trying to move forward, and this time they didn’t have the aids from the side defenders as both Lucas Viña and Blas Alonso were feeling the pressure of Fer Ruiz and Rubén Sánchez.

Borja Díaz had the first opportunity for the visiting side with a strong shot that passed close to the crossbar (8’). The locals only had two opportunities in the first half, the first one came at minute 17 with a shot by Martín Bengoa that missed the target.

The Madrilenians were close to open the scoresheet at minute 31 as Fer Ruiz hit the crossbar with a long-distance attempt. Minutes later Rubén Mesa scored, but it was disallowed for an offside. Fabril ended the half with its second opportunity, a cross from Borja Galán was headed by Uxío, but the striker missed the target (37’).

The second half followed the same script until Sanse found the lonely goal in the meeting, and it was a big error of the local defence. Álex Cobo compromised the ball with a risky pass to Queijeiro, who lost it before Rubén Mesa and the ex-Atlético B didn’t waste the gift.

Only one minute later Óscar was completing the first shot on target in the game for Fabril, it was a header that was an easy catch for visiting goalie Diego Barrios (58’). This last action was only a mirage, because Sanse continued dominating and Fer Ruiz hit the crossbar for the second time in the game, it was a strong shot that was previously deflected by Álex Cobo (60’)

Then Parralo made the first two changes and Jorge Romay and Carlos López replaced Bengoa and Queijeiro. The draw was switched into a 4-1-4-1 and it was what Fabril needed in order to change the course of the game.

Because the Galician lads gained depth with the presence of Romay and the chances finally started to arrive, at minute 70, a cross from Blas didn’t meet a receiver inside the area, one minute later Óscar was missing the target from the edge of the area.

At minute 74, a direct free-kick from Borja Galán was an easy catch for Diego Barrios, one minute later Blas missed the target from the edge of the area, then Romay didn’t end properly a play inside the visiting box (78’).

At this point Diego Caballo had replaced Lucas Viña as the coach sought for depth on the left flank, but Fabril were unable to tie the game despite having a last chance through a blocked shot of Romay (85’).

First defeat on the season for Fabril, it was a deserved outcome as the rival was better. The team only reacted with the entry of Jorge Romay and later didn’t’ seize the opportunities that they had. On next Sunday, the lads visit Galician neighbor Racing Ferrol (A Malata, 17h00 CET)
