DEPORTIVO IN APRIL

It could be the definitive month as Deportivo could suffer the relegation in April, only a streak of good results will keep the chances of survival. And the rivals are tough, the list includes the first two places.

Three months without victories and Deportivo arrive to the definitive part of the season. 6 of the 9 remaining games in liga will be disputed in April, it’s a hard challenge as the Galicians face three of the top six clubs. The relegation could be a fact if the current negative streak continues.

It all starts with the visit to Atlético Madrid. It’s the first time with Depor visiting the new Metropolitano stadium. The Madrilenians have lost two of their last three games in liga, but also represent one of the two teams that remain undefeated at home in this competition. Los Rojoblancos were left with a short squad after the winter window, and four days later they host Sporting CP for the Europa League.

Then Depor host Málaga CF, the only club with lesser points than the Galicians. Like Depor, the Andalusians remain winless in 2017 and their last victory was a 0-2 visiting Real Sociedad, which is also their only away victory on the season.

At the middle of the month, Depor will face a week with three liga games. First, Los Blanquiazules visit Athletic Club It has been a disappointing season for the Basques, though they only lost two times at San Mamés: 1-2 Vs. Atlético Madrid (September 20) and 0-2 Vs. Barcelona FC (October28).

In midweek, Deportivo host Sevilla CF. The Andalusians also have had a mediocre season, but they remain in Europa League spots and want to secure their participation in Europe. They already lost nine times playing on the road, that’s only one more defeat than Deportivo.

Leganés CF is the following rival with Depor visiting Butarque. The Madrilenians have lost some stamina lately after losing three of the last six games in the tournament, but their season is meritorious and still have the chance to qualify to Europe.

April ends with the visit of FC Barcelona to the Riazor. The Catalans remain undefeated and have been a steamroller in the competition. They have only dropped 18 points in la liga and could arrive to the meeting as the crowned champions. This game arrives in the middle of the semifinals of the Champions League, the Catalans will reach this stage if they beat AS Roma in quarterfinals.
