Segunda División, also known as Liga 1|2|3, defined during the weekend the last two clubs promoted from Segunda B. Rayo Vallecano, SD Huesca and Real Valladolid are promoted to the elite, while Deportivo, UD Las Palmas and Málaga CF are getting their spots at the second-tier. CF Rayo Majadahonda and RCD Mallorca won the Champions series from Segunda B, while on the weekend it was Elche CF and Extremadura UD the sides clinching the promotion.

For the first time in sixteen seasons, there are no B squads at Segunda División, Instead, there are several historic clubs in the competition, including Deportivo, RCD Mallorca and Real Zaragoza, sides that had own titles. Actually, of the 22 clubs, only four haven’t played at Primera in the past (Lugo, Alcorcón, Reus & Rayo Majadahonda)

Andalusia is the region with more clubs (5):

Andalusia: Granada CF, Málaga CF, UD Almería, Cádiz CF & Córdoba CF
Asturias: Real Oviedo & Sporting de Gijón
Catalonia: CF Reus Deportiu & Nàstic de Tarragona
Madrid: AD Alcorcón & CF Rayo Majadahonda

The idea is to start the league competition on August 18, though it isn’t sure as the Supercopa is scheduled for August 1 & 19 and it will have an impact in the start both at Primera and Segunda. The season should end on July 18/19, 2019. There will be a meeting on July 23 in which the exact dates will be determined, in that meeting it will also be fixed the calendar.
