THE END OF THE WINTER MARKET

30 Jan 2007
The winter transder window will close midnight. The first surprise was the exit of Arbeloa and the promotion of 'Piscu' to the first squad. It isn't known if the club will fulfill more operations, but it's expected that Lendoiro will atleast try to bring Xisco back from his loan spell at Vecindario.

The unexpected departure of Alvaro Arbeloa continues to generate shock for the fans. The amount of the operation isn't official, but some rumours say that the transfer was €4 million. Of this amount, Depor will have to pay €1.35 million to Real Madrid, a clause that was included in the deal signed with the Madrilians during the summer.

Other rumours speculate that the operation includes an additional collaboration agreement between Liverpool and Deportivo. A deal that would mean the entrance of David Moores (the current owner of Liverpool) as shareholder of the Galician club. But this information has not yet been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Adri??n L??pez 'Piscu' has been promoted to the first squad. He is the second youngster promoted in Caparr??s's era. Iago was the first one. Piscu already played a couple of minutes in the copa series against RCD Mallorca and will have the incredible opportunity to play alongside veterans like Lopo, Andrade, Juanma and Coloccini.

Other players that have left the club include; Iv??n Carril (Palencia), Angel Guirado (Lugo), Rodri (Almeria) and Ian Mackay (Universidad de Oviedo). All of them loaned out until June. The case with Alav?s for the transfer of Bodipo was finally resolved, for that reason Pablo ?lvarez has been already inscribed in la liga, in fact he will debut today against Valladolid.

We still don’t know the future of Xisco, Adri??n and Iago. It isn't known if Lendoiro will finally negotiate the incorporation of Xisco to Deportivo. The operation will include the loan of Adri??n and Iago to Vecindario. Deportivo-la-coruna.com will bring an extensive coverage of all the movements made by Depor as soon as the winter market closes.
