Two goalless draws have left tighter the competition for the first two places. CF Reus have been suspended for three years.

Two unexpected goalless draws have left the competence for the first two places even tighter of what was before this matchday. Málaga only got a point visiting a struggling CD Tenerife, while Granada CF didn’t find the aim hosting Extremadura UD.

Both teams remain at the first two places, but now Deportivo and CA Osasuna are only one game away. The Galicians got the three points visiting Sporting Gijón (1-2), while the Navarrans added three vital points in their visit to UD Almería (0-1).

AD Alcorcón returned to winning ways after five games struggling, but did it suffering as they had to come from behind in order to beat relegation-troubled Córdoba CF (2-1). Meanwhile, Cádiz CF remain winless in 2019 and this time they could only add appoint hosting direct rival RCD Mallorca (1-1). Real Oviedo also saw how its positive streak ended (3 straight victories) after losing at Real Zaragoza (2-0).

At the bottom,  it’s already known that FC Reus is relegated.  A judge ruled them out of competition for three years after been unable to fulfill the financial rules of la liga, so it’s now official that all the matchdays of the second round will only have 10 games, with one side resting every weekend. Now it was the time for Albacete Balompié.

Still, the teams trying to avoid the other three relegation spots remain without winning. Gimnástic Tarragona gave a hard battle, but only got a point hosting UD Las Palmas (0-0), while Rayo Majadahonda equalized twice the score at CD Lugo, but ended losing 3-2.  Finally, Elche CF remain in a danger after only adding a point hosting CD Numancia (1-1).

Leaders Granada CF visit fourth place CA Osasuna in the most entertaining game of the matchday. Runners-up Málaga CF are hosting a UD Almeria that don’t want to lose the train to the playoff, while third place Deportivo play at the Riazor hosting relegation-troubled CD Tenerife. There’s also an interesting match at the edge of the playoff zone with RCD Mallorca welcoming AD Alcorcón.

The matchday is completed with other six games: CD Numancia Vs. CD Lugo; Rayo Majadahonda Vs. Gimnástic Tarragona; Córdoba CF Vs. Albacete Balompié; Real Oviedo Vs. Cádiz CF; Extremadura UD Vs. CA Osasuna & UD Las Palmas Vs. Sporting Gijón. Elche CF is resting this weekend.
