It was a busy winter window for Deportivo, with the club completing three operations within the final 24 hours. There were also movements at Fabril as the B team is searching to survive at Segunda B.

Busy and unusual winter market for Deportivo, unusual because the officials were calm throughout the window due to the position of the team at the standings, and the movements only came in the final days, with three of the operations taking place in the final 24 hours.

The two exits are right-back Gerard Valentín and playmaker Carles Gil. Gerard was loaned to CD Lugo until the end of the season, while Gil was transferred to New England Revolution for a fee between the €1.5 million and the €1.75 million.

The arrivals only came until deadline day, right winger Matías Nahuel Leiva arrived loaned from Villarreal CF and should be considered as the replacement of Carles Gil. Meanwhile, Iñigo López arrived as a free agent and should be considered as the fourth centre-back, allowing Eneko Bóveda to be the replacement of David Simón on the right side of the defence.

It was also reported that Depor attempted a final signing, Getafe's midfielder Gaku Shibasaki (26), but it was a complex operation as it needed at least three additional movements at other clubs, and in the end it was too late. Gerard Dubarbier had an offer from Argentine, but the left-back decided to stay.

There were also movements with the loanees; actually it was the busiest department in the window. Raúl Albentosa rescinded his contract after been loaned at Nástic Tarragona, while keeper Francis switched Elche CF for Anorthosis Famagusta FC in Cyprus (loan deal until the end of the season).  CD Leganés tried to send back Juanfran Moreno and Diego Rolan, but only the latter managed to leave the Madrilenian club. The Uruguayan cancelled his loan deal and was sent to Alavés. This operation occurred almost at midnight and was another of the reasons why the arrival of Gaku Shibasaki wasn’t materialized.

The delicate situation of the team at Segunda B moved the club to make signings. Four men arrived: right-back Carlos Ramírez 'Leto', left-back Juanmi Carrión, plus midfielders Ignacio Abeledo and Arturo Segado.

At the same time there were exits. Blas Alonso and Luismi rescinded their contracts, while Diego Villarres (Racing Villalbés), Sergio Ortuño (CD Eldense) and Pedro Correia (Sporting Braga) were loaned out. Also, centre-back Mujaid Sadick was sent back to Juvenil A and French Sébastien Salles-Lamonge was on trial in a French third-tier club, but the deal never happened.
