The injuries are affecting both teams. Natxo González picked two Fabril’s lads despite recovering Pedro Sánchez. Gimnástic already used 41 players on the season.

Referee: César Soto Grado
Kick-off: 16h00 CET (Riazor)

Gimnástic Tarragona is the worst team on the Segunda season, at least statistically. They are penultimate at the standings only because FC Reus were already disqualified, but Nástic have only added 20 points, while FC Reus added 21 with four less matches played when they were expelled. Nástic also represent the worst offence in the league with only 14 goals scored and the second-worst defence with 37 goals allowed (Córdoba are the worst with 45).

Also, the Catalans are the worst visiting team in liga, after 13 visits they only won once and got two draws. Their only away success was a 0-1 win at Extremadura UD (0-1), while they scratched a point in the tough visits to Cádiz CF (1-1) and UD Las Palmas (0-0). Meanwhile, Deportivo is one of the four clubs that remain undefeated at home (the others are CA Osasuna, Albacete Balompié and UD Las Palmas).

Gimnástic have visited the Riazor in seven opportunities playing for a league competition. They lost in five of those meetings and their only positive results were a 0-1 win for the Segunda season 1973/74 and a 2-2 draw in the Segunda campaign 2011/12, the latter is their last visit to A Coruña.

Depor finally found the success in the away games, but also found out a pile of casualties. Playmaker Pedro Sánchez is recovered from a muscle problem, but the coach only had eighteen men for the game, an unbalanced team as ten of them were defenders. So, he decided to pick two lads from Fabril: Jonathan Montiel and Arturo Segado. Playmaker Montiel is among the best players on the season at Fabril, while centre midfielder Segado is a winter signing that has left a positive impression after four games at Segunda B.

This is the most narrow squad that coach Natxo González has on this season, the injuries are worrying him, but at least next week he is recovering Carlos Fernández and suspended Domingos Duarte.

Team news: Pedro Sánchez passed a late test and entered the roster for the game. There are four players at the injury room: Pedro Mosquera, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Vicente Gómez and Carlos Fernández. Nahuel Leiva and Domingos Duarte are suspended. Centre-back Iñigo López was picked for the first time after been signed in the last week of the winter window, Dubarbier was left out of the roster.

Man to watch: Midfielder Didier Moreno. The Colombian started the season as a normal starter, but since November he became a substitute. The player himself admitted that he had problems adapting and the coach preferred other options. In 2019, he impressed entering as a substitute and playing the final half an hour at Sporting, later was a starter against CD Tenerife.  Now he needs to convince as Natxo is missing a lot of players in midfield.

Picked players: (19) Dani Giménez, Adrián Ortolá (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, David Simón, Pablo Mari, Michele Somma, Iñigo López, Diego Caballo, Saúl García (defenders); Edu Expósito, Álex Bergantiños, Didier Moreno, Arturo Segado, Fede Cartabia, Pedro Sánchez, Montiel (midfielders); Quique González, Christian Santos & Borja Valle (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Dani Giménez – David Simón, Somma, Pablo Mari, Caballo – Álex Bergantiños, Didier Moreno – Cartabia, Edu Expósito, Borja Valle - Quique González.
41 players have had minutes with Nástic during the present Segunda season plus the Copa Del Rey tournament. It’s an incredible number taking in mind that the second round is just starting, and the number should raise to at least 43 taking in mind that right-back Josema Fernández and striker José Kanté haven’t debuted yet after been signed in the winter window. It means that, technically, the Catalans could have presented four totally different lineups in the same season.

The reason for this unusual situation is that the club’s officials have kept a large squad all season long (26 players at this point) and that they made a radical facelift during the winter window, making 10 signings and releasing 11 players. The bench was also affected by the changes and José Antonio Gordillo was fired after only ten games, Enrique Martín is the coach since matchday 11. It all seems like a desperate measure trying to reach a salvation that remains close after all: 6 points.

Team news: The club has a large squad, but also a large list of casualties for the game. Seven men are out for injury reasons: right-back Iván López, centre midfielder Vítor Martínez ‘Viti’ (both knee), centre-back Mohammed Djetei, centre midfielder Ramiro Guerra (both thigh), winger Sebastià Coris (lumbago), left-back Abraham Minero (thigh) and striker Ikechukwu Uche (ankle).  Right-back Josema Fernández and striker José Kanté are on the roster for the first time after been signed on deadline day.

Man to watch: Winger Miguel Palanca. This veteran player was known for his first years with Real Madrid, he played for Nástic for the season 2015/2016 and, after a foreign adventure that took him to India, has returned to Catalonia during the winter window. He entered as a substitute in the past game at Rayo Majadahonda and is considered as a leader that can lead to the miracle of the salvation. He has played 177 games in the league with four different clubs and scored 14 goals.

Picked players: (18) Bernabé Barragán, Isaac Becerra (goalkeepers); Josema Sánchez, Mikel Villanueva, Fabián Noguera, Pol Valentín, Salva Ferrer (defenders); Ousseynou Thioune, Javier Márquez, Miguel Palanca, Gonzalo Ávila ‘Pipa’, Imanol García, Antonio Cotán, Roger Brugué, Sergio Montero (midfielders); Berat Sadik, José Kanté & Luis Suárez (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Bernabé - Salva, Noguera, Mikel Villanueva, Josema - Imanol, Cotán – Pipa, Thioune, Javi Márquez - Luis Suárez.
