MATCHDAY 36: AWAY GLORY

30 Apr 2019
Only four locals were able to win during this matchday, CA Osasuna are closer to promotion, while CD Lugo suffered a severe defeat at the bottom.

It was a good matchday for the visiting teams with six of the ten visitors been able to add points. There are some tendencies that seem definitive, like the climbing of CA Osasuna. The Navarrans chained a third straight victory surpassing direct rival Albacete Balompié and now they have a nine-point gap with the third place, with six games remaining they could be celebrating the promotion in two weeks.

Granada CF took advantage of this result and reached the second place after a 2-0 win over Gimnástic Tarragona. Meanwhile, RCD Mallorca clinched a huge win visiting Málaga CF (0-1) and now they are fourth, their best position so far.

Cádiz CF could only add a point visiting Rayo Majadahonda and it meant good news for the comebacks of both Deportivo and Real Oviedo. The Galicians returned to winning ways visiting CD Numancia (1-2) and are now only one point below the promotion zone, while the Asturians beat UD Almeria (0-1) and are two points away from the sixth place.

The side searching for the playoff zone that didn’t have a good day was Sporting Gijón as they could only add a point hosting Elche CF (1-1). AD Alcorcón added the points from the meeting with FC Reus, but they remain far from the playoff zone (eight points).
