The first signing or the season 2019/20 is Vassilios Lampropoulos. The Greek centre-back arrives from AEK Athens and signs a two-year contract.

Just minutes after announcing the exit of coach Martí, the club announced the first signing for the season 2019/20: Vassilios–Konstantinos Lampropoulos. He is a 29-year-old Greek centre-back that sings a two-year deal after ending his contract with AEH Athens. H can also perform as a left-back and centre midfielder.

He has made his entire career in Greece, from Olympiacos to end performing for AEK Athens during five years (2014-2019). Despite his age, he was recently called for the first time to the national team. On 9 November 2018, Greece new coach Angelos Anastasiadis called him for the match against Finland and Estonia as part of the UEFA Nations League. On 15 November, the centre-back made his debut in a 1-0 home win game against Finland.

Vassilios is described as a fast and reliable centre-back that dominate the aerial game and with European experience. Last season he took part of the UEFA Champions League, in the qualifying stage they eliminated Celtic, the centre-back played the full 90 minutes in both legs and even provided an assist (agg.3-2). In the group stage he played three games facing Ajax once and Bayern Munich twice.

His exit from AEK is marked by a dispute with owner Dimitris Melissanidis, he and other two players (Andre Simoes and Anastasios Bakasetas) were ending their contracts in June of 2019, and as a way to press for a renewal, they were sidelined from the team since November.

Vassilios was the only one that didn’t sign a renewal and for this reason he only played 8 games in the Super League 2018-2019. He was close to leave to Rangers during the last winter window, but stayed in Greece until the end off the campaign.
