Luis César is worried for the set-pieces of Fuenlabrada CF; Jovanović could be a starter. The rival was playing at Segunda B only ten months ago and is now third at the standings.

Kick-off: 16h00 CET (Fernando Torres)

First official meeting with Fuenlabrada CF, it’s a debutant at Segunda División that has been the revelation on the current campaign. Despite playing in the second tier for the first time, the Madrilenians are already living in the promotion zone after only 13 matchdays.

And they have been consistent in all facets of the game, they are the fifth best defence with 13 goals allowed and are also the fifth best offense with 18 goals scored. They are both strong at home and on the road, and their only defeat at the Fernando Torres stadium was the previous home game: 0-1 Vs. Albacete Balompié.

Meanwhile, Deportivo continue to be a disaster, been the bottom club for three straight weeks after been unable to clinch a victory since matchday 01. The Galicians are the worst defence in the league with 23 goals allowed and are the fourth worse attacking line with 12 goals scored, only Elche CF (11), Málaga CF (11) and Albacete Balompié (10) have scored less.

Coach Luis César Sampedro is worried with the set-pieces, since his arrival Deportivo haven’t scored any goal in strategy and at the same time conceded twice in these actions, plus the showed big problems to defend the aerial game from the rival, and with Fuenlabrada CF scoring the 70% of their goals in set-pieces, the coach has been insisting with this during the training sessions.

It’s not clear if the coach will repeat the lineup from the visit to Racing; on Wednesday he was testing with Beto da Silva as the companion of Koné, but the Peruvian attacker wasn’t included in the roster for the game. It’s possible that Saša Jovanović could end up playing as a starter after his good second half against at El Sardinero.

Team news: Left-back Luis Ruiz suffered a relapse from the muscle problem suffered some weeks ago, an it’s out of this meeting. The other players at the injury room are Michelle Somma and David Simón. Striker Beto da Silva is out for tactical reasons despite been tested as a starter on Wednesday.

Man to watch: Striker Mamadou Koné. The Ivorian has been praised for his performances after returning from an injury; his team needs fresh legs in order to unclog the defensive game of Fuenlabrada CF.

Picked players: (18) Dani Giménez, Koke Vegas (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, Vassilios Lampropoulos, Javi Montero, Salva Ruiz, (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Peru Nolaskoain, Vicente Gómez, Gaku Shibasaki, Borja Galán, Ager Aketxe, Víctor Mollejo, Saša Jovanović (midfielders); Christian Santos, Mamadou Koné, Borja Valle & Samuele Longo (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Dani Giménez – Bóveda, Lampropoulos, Montero, Salva Ruiz –Nolaskoain, Álex Bergantiños – Jovanović, Aketxe, Borja Valle - Koné.
No one at Fuenlabrada CF were expecting for this, the team is fighting for the promotion places just when everybody was expecting for a complicate season in the debut of the Madrilenians at the second tier. Things have been so quick that they passed from one extreme to the other in a stroke of a pen. In January they were facing Fabril in the last stretch at Segunda B, ten months later they have fourteen more points than the first team of Deportivo.

The key for coach Baldomero Hermoso ‘Mere’ is to keep using the base that achieved the promotion from Segunda B, in the first seven games in which they added points, the coach repeated the lineup, and it wasn’t until the victories over Real Zaragoza and UD Las Palmas that he made changes, but only due to the injuries. And that taking in mind that they signed experienced players like ex-Depor Oriol Riera that until now didn’t have a protagonic role.

Team news: Mere said on Friday that he hopes to recover centre midfielder Pablo Clavería (ankle sprain), but winger Jose Fran (grade II muscle injury), centre-back David Prieto (jaw fracture) and wingerAlberto Fernández (knee) are out of the game. Centre midfielder Álex Vallejo is out suspended.

Man to watch: Winger Hugo Fraile. He is the top-scorer at the team with 7 goals in favour, which means he has netted the 39% of Fuenlabrada’s goals this campaign. The Andalusians is the counterpart to Aketxe as his seven goals came in set-pieces (5 penalties and 2 free-kick goals). Two of his seven goals came in the last victory at UD Las Palmas.

Picked players: Roster to be released on Saturday.

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Biel Ribas - Iribas, Chico Flores, Juanma, Glauder – Pathé Ciss, Anderson, Cristóbal Márquez, Hugo Fraile - Randy Nteka, Jeisson.
