REVIEW: SILVA 2 – FABRIL 1 (TERCERA)

25 Nov 2019
Defeat in the derby of A Coruña. Third loss on the season for a Fabril that couldn’t hold on the initial advantage after playing with ten men for 45 minutes.

BEFORE THE GAME
Big problems for coach Luisito. The mumps hit the club during the week and he lost four players: Javi Sánchez, David Sánchez, Bourdal and Aarón Sánchez. Besides, Mujaid Sadick was concentrated with the first team. In the end, side defender Víctor Eimil played as a centre-back joining Iago Parga.

THE MATCH
The derby of A Coruña had tension, excitement and a lot of yellow cards. Eleven players were booked, plus the delegate of SD Silva and Fabril suffered an expulsion. Depor’s lads had the advantage, but they fell down within the last fourteen minutes despite having a great chance to define the meeting at minute 81.

The game was equal since the start, but Fabril found an early goal in a lateral free-kick. Víctor Eimil released the cross and his attempt was going in, but Mario Losada pushed the ball at the goal line, the 8th goal for him on the campaign.

The actions continued to be equal, but with a lot of interruptions due to the constant fouls. The referee showed seven yellow cards in only 24 minutes, all of them for SD Silva and one of them was for Silva’s delegate José Nuñez.

The best chance for SD Silva in the first half was a shot of Kata that was saved by Álex Cobo (30’).  And Fabril were going to pay a high price for the large number of yellow cards, this since Famoussa Kanouté was sent off with two yellow cards during the stoppage time of the first part. Curiously, he was the only player booked at Depor in this half.

Fabril were leading at half-time, but in order to take the three points, they would have to survive with ten men for 45 minutes. What Luisito did was to play with a 4-2-3 figure, Villares joined Iago Gandoy at midfield and the game turned into an exchange of blows in which Depor’s lads could have obtained the victory.

But the side that succeeded was SD Silva, and it was because the changes made by coach Javier Bardanca worked. João Paulo and Joni Fila entered after the break and they were going to participate in the goals.

João Paulo could have scored the equalizer with a strong shot that hit the crossbar (56’). Luisito tried to refresh the attack with the entries of Jawed Boumeddane and Youssouf Yalike; Fabril were caressing the victory, but somehow it escaped within the last fourteen minutes.

First João Paulo scored the equalizer after finding a cross of Marcos Gómez in a corner-kick action. Yevhen Pidlepenets was the last substitution at Fabril as he replaced Iago Novo.

The score was 1-1 and Fabril could have won the game, but Jawed wasted a good chance at minute 81 with local goalie Adrián Ríos making a great save. And from there SD Silva won the match thanks to a counterattack at the last minute of the stoppage time, Joni Fila assisted Marcos Gómez and he scored the winning goal.
