The final week in 2019 for Deportivo will be hard, and not only for the current situation at the club. There are three games in a frame of six days, and Luis César is losing Gaku and Borja Valle.

The crisis at Deportivo is getting deeper and deeper. After nineteen straight matchdays without wins, which is a negative mark at the club, the board of directors, commanded by Paco Zas, has decided to step out. And the decision comes only a few days before the last week of work in 2019, which is promising to be intense and busy.

And it’s that the team is facing three games in a frame of six days, and the club will also live the annual shareholders meeting. It all starts on Saturday with Deportivo visiting SD Ponferradina (El Toralín, 18h00 CET). On Tuesday the team faces the first round in Copa del Rey visiting Tercera club CF Illueca (Papa Luna field, 19h00 CET) and the year will be closed on next Friday with Depor hosting CD Tenerife (Riazor, 21h00 CET).

In the middle of all this the shareholders meetings scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. It’s expected a hot environment and it should take place in the first call in order to not coincide with the game in Copa. The board will try to explain the current disastrous season and will present the financial numbers to the shareholders. The decision of who will replace them will be left for a meeting in January.

About the preparation of the games, coach Luis César will miss three players. Salva Ruiz and Christian Santos have joined the group after surpassing hamstring injuries and should be available.

But on Wednesday it was known that Borja Valle and Gaku Shibasaki will miss the game at SD Ponferradina and the Copa match at CF Illueca. The striker sustained a muscle injury on his right thigh and the Japanese player suffered a hamstring injury on his left thigh. The other player out is David Simón, the right back will return until 2020 after needing groin surgery.

The rivals in liga arrive in a bad situation. SD Ponferradina were climbing positions, but suddenly they entered into a bad streak and have only added three of the last fifteen points in dispute. They are six points above the pit. Coach Jon Pérez Bolo expects to recover midfielder Carlos Bravo, who skipped the game at Sporting Gijón due to a knock, but will lose his pair of centre midfielders. Óscar Sielva is suspended with five yellow cards. He has played in all the games on the season. The other one is Fran Manzanara, who was sent off against Sporting Gijón. Top-scorer Yuri has been training apart due to a knock, but it’s expected that he will be fit for the game.

Meanwhile, CD Tenerife are in relegation after suffering straight defeats. Rubén Baraja just landed at the club after the exit of Aritz López Garai. Attacker Álex Bermejo should be available for the game at the Riazor after missing the last month due to an adductor muscle injury. He is one of the three players that have scored four goals on the current season (the others are Borja Lasso and Filip Malbašić).

About CF Illueca, the Aragonians have only lost once on the current Tercera season, but at the same time they drew in eight of the sixteen matches played so far, and for this reason they are currently out of the promotion zone to Segunda B.
