With one more week ahead in the winter window, Deportivo is hurrying up the negotiations in order to reinforce the first squad. During Thursday's issue, Depor Sport informed that the club's target is to close two incorporations: Colombian striker Falcao plus a right winger, about this last position, the paper gave the list of four candidates that Lendoiro is studying.

According to Depor Sport, Deportivo has defined its policy for the winter window, the objective is to sign a new striker plus a right winger. The main target for the attacking zone is Radamel Falcao (21), a Colombian forward that debuted two years ago with River Plate. Falcao has played 27 official games with the Argentinean club and has scored 15 goals.

The highly-rated Colombian is considered as a very complete attacker, he is right-footed but posses the ability to shot with both legs. Besides, he's considered as a solid striker in the aerial game. He's has also been described as a lethal player inside the penalty area and has been praised for his capacity to shot from long-distance.

Falcao won the CONMEBOL U-20 South American championship with Colombia during the year 2006. He has also played with the major squad and even participated in three of the four matches played so far by Colombia in the qualifying round for the FIFA 2010 World Cup (against. Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela). Falcao arrived to River Plate after playing with Millonarios in Colombia and it's considered as the last diamond in the Argentinean club.

Depor Sport informs that Lendoiro presented an offer for Falcao and that this proposal reaches the $14.7 million (€10 million), the same paper informs that the offer wasn't rejected, the source claims that the Argentinean club just asked about the conditions of the payment and that the negotiations still opened. However, Argentinean sportpaper Ol? wrote the offer was already rejected and that it reached the final amount of $12.4 million (€8.43 million), apparently the proposal was presented by N?stor S?vori, one of the player's agents.

Ol? also affirms the offer was rejected because on the same day that this proposal was presented -Wednesday- River Plate transferred one of the three strikers in the team, Marco Rub?n, who was curiously also linked with Depor in past weeks, Rub?n was signed by Villarreal and will be loaned to Recreativo de Huelva. Coach Simeone doesn't want to lose the potential in his squad, specially since they face Boca Juniors on Saturday, reason why Ol? believes that River Plate will try to block the operation.

Depor Sport wrote a list of four candidates in order to reinforce the right wing. The first two are emphasised by the paper for their experience: Christian Wilhelmsson (28) and Geovanni Deiberson (28). Wilhelmsson is a right-footed Swedish right winger that's currently playing with Bolton Wanderers, he was praised by Depor's coaches for his ability to send good crosses from both sides and also for his vision in midfield. Geovanni is the Brazilian winger linked with Depor since two weeks ago, his agent Roberto Assun?ao has been trying to negotiate with Manchester City during the last days, but he hasn't been able to obtain his freedom.

The other two candidates appointed by Depor Sport are described as young promises: Marcos Sebasti??n Aguirre (23) and Nabil El-Zahar (21). Aguirre is an Argentinean right winger that performs at Lan??s, the last champion in Argentina. Despite his young age, he has played 77 liga games with Lan??s and has scored seven goals. Meanwhile, El-Zahar is a Moroccan playmaker that can perform on both wings, he possess a French passport and belongs to Liverpool.

Depor Sport didn't give any clue about the state of the negotiations nor the prices asked by the clubs of this four options, they just wrote that Liverpool is studying the loan of El-Zahar since he has only played three games on this season with the Premiership club.

Newspaper El Mercurio in Chile wrote that Deportivo and Real Sociedad are strongly pushing for a Chilean playmaker/left-winger: Carlos Andr?s Villanueva (22). He belongs to Audax Italiano in Chile. According to the source, the president of that club, Valent?n Cantergiani, has had a fight with the player and has decided to sell him. The paper wrote that an agent contacted by Depor was offering $8.7 million (€6 million) for Villanueva.

The same Villanueva admitted an offer from Spain although he didn't want to give the name of the club, as he said to newspaper El Mercurio: "My agent -Cristi??n Ogalde- is checking that. But yes, there are some possibilities in Spain. In fact, they have talked with my agent. There is interest. But I can't say the name of the club."

Vilanueva debuted with Deportes La Serena (Segunda Divisi??n) in Chile on the year 2003, he scored 5 goals in 15 games and was bought by Audax Italiano (the 51% of his rights). Later he joined the U-20 squad that participated in the FIFA U-20 World Cup that was played in the Netherlands during the year 2005, although he didn't play any game. Later he became the leader of Audax and was a vital piece to clinch a spot for Copa Libertadores 2007. National coach Marcelo Bielsa called him for the Copa America 2007 and in that tournament, Villanueva scored a goal against Ecuador. He has also played in two of the four qualifying games played by Chile for the FIFA 2010 World Cup (against Uruguay and Paraguay).
