Convincing victory of Depor Ladies, a solid start at the beginning of both halves was enough to defeat the last place at the standings.

Coach Manu Sánchez had the casualties of Miriam Rios and Miralles for injury reasons. The coach made two changes from the team that drew at Valencia CF; both changes at midfield as Tere Abelleira and Alba Merino started on the bench, so Maya Yamamoto and Kika were starters. New signings Carolina Arbeláez and Lorena Bedoya weren’t included in the roster.

The game started with Depor Ladies trying to have the initiative and the first clear chance to score meant the first goal. It was a corner-kick of Nuria Rábano that Gaby headed in. The locals tried to react immediately with an attempt of Brenda, but Misa made the save (15’).

But the Ladies were going to fins a second goal soon, this time Peke had a shot blocked inside the area, Gaby found the loose ball and released a strong and low shot into the far post. The second goal killed the morale of RCD Espanyol and coach Jordi Ferrol was so disappointed that ordered a triple change after only 33 minutes.

The changes improved the game of the locals, Depor Ladies were now having problems due to the pressure and the arrivals were now scarce. RCD Espanyol could have scored at minute 43 after substitute Elena Julve released a strong shot that was saved by Misa. A third goal for the visiting side could have arrived before the break, but Peke wasted a good cross from Athenea as she hit the body of local keeper Mimi (45’).

Depor Ladies had a strong start in the second half, at minute 49, Peke wasted a good chance after been assisted by Cris, and her shot went out close to the near post.  And the third goal arrived, Iris Arnaiz made a long run on the left and ended assisting Kika, who didn’t miss from inside the area.

RCD Espanyol’s first arrival in the second part was a low shot of Brenda blocked by Misa (53’).  The first substitution for Depor Ladies was the entry of Carlota Sánchez for Athenea del Castillo.

The locals gained control of the ball at the middle of the second half, and it was then that their best chances arrived. At minute 72, a strong shot of Julve hit the crossbar and the ball bounced at the goal line, three minutes later Misa saved a one-on-one action against Brenda.

The second substitution at Depor was the entry of Alba Merino for Maya Yamamoto, seconds later Peke wasted a good chance to score, and his shot from the edge of the area went out close to the post (80’). Then Peke was replaced by Michelle Romero and Nuria by Érika Sâmia.
