Deportivo want to continue with its progression as it visits an out-of-form rival that wants to avoid demotion problems. Uche Agbo might debut and there are doubts for the left side of the defence.

Kick-off: 16h00 CET (Carlos Belmonte)

Albacete Balompié are living a bad moment in liga after spending seven games without victories, it’s the second worst streak in the league behind AD Alcorcón (8). Their main problem is the scoring department. Los Manchegos have only scored 11 goals in 23 matches, which is the worst mark in the league.

They are also the second worst local team at Segunda after only adding 12 points at the Carlos Belmonte stadium, it’s the second worst mark in the league only behind Extremadura UD (10). Meanwhile, Deportivo have chained four straight victories and searches for a new win that can pull the team out of the drop zone. The Galicians have been in relegation places since matchday 08.

This is the 11th visit to Albacete Balompié playing for a league competition; Depor have won two of the last three visits to the Carlos Belmonte. And to remember that this stadium witnessed the biggest away victory of the Galicians playing at Primera (2-8, June 18, 1995).

Coach Fernando Vázquez has found a scheme and will continue using the system with three centre-backs, the problem is that he has been forced to make changes since his arrival due to suspensions and injuries.

Salva Ruiz got injured for the past game with Cádiz CF, and with Luis Ruiz dragging problems during the week, the coach has tested with Javi Montero and Víctor Mollejo for the left-back position. Vázquez said before the game that Luis Ruiz is fit, but it’s expected that Mollejo will be the chosen one.

Another problem is the suspension of Peru Nolaskoain, it will force Vázquez to allow the debut of Uche Agbo at midfield, the Nigerian player was signed during the week. At the same time, and since Mollejo is delaying his position on the field, there will be a second debut on this game: Claudio Beauvue.

Team news: Just minutes before releasing the roster, the club announced that Saša Jovanović had rescinded his contract, this allowed the inscription of midfielder Uche Agbo, who was included in the roster and is expected to start. Another relief for the coach was that Luis Ruiz surpassed a late test and is fit to start on the left side of the defence, though it’s expected that he will be on the bench.

Beto da Silva, David Simón, Salva Ruiz and Christian Santos are the players at the injury room, while Peru Nolaskoain is suspended. Koné, Longo, Borja Valle and Hugo Vallejo are out for tactical reasons, the latter joined the team on Saturday after signing his loan contract from Real Madrid.

Man to watch: Midfielder Uche Agbo. Vázquez found the formula for midfield territory with Peru Nolaskoain and Gaku Shibasaki, now the first is suspended and the Nigerian will make his debut. The coach has said he is in perfect conditions, though Agbo only played nine official games in 2019, the last one a 2-4 win of Sporting Braga at Slovan Bratislava for the Europa League (December 12).

Picked players: (18) Dani Giménez, Koke Vegas (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, Michelle Somma, Javi Montero, Vassilios Lampropoulos, Mujaid Sadick, Luiz Ruiz  (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Gaku Shibasaki, Ager Aketxe, Uche Agbo, Emre Çolak, Borja Galán, Víctor Mollejo (midfielders) Claudio Beauvue & Sabin Merino (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (5-4-1) Dani Giménez – Bóveda, Somma, Mujaid, Montero, Mollejo – Aketxe, Uche Agbo, Gaku Shibasaki, Beauvue – Sabin Merino.
Dark times at Albacete Balompié, the team was revelation of last season and only missed the final round in the playoffs for not scoring a goal. Now they are the worst offensive line in the league and the fans fear the team could end up in relegation places if the situation doesn’t change. Coach Luis Miguel Ramis could be sacked in case of not clinching a victory in this game, and there has been criticism with the signings, mainly after Rey Manaj was allowed to leave for only €700,000.

Team news: Ramis is missing centre-back Nico Gorosito for injury reasons, while Pedro Sánchez is ineligible for contract reasons. Ex-Depor Diego Caballo was signed during the week, but he is not expected to be part of the starting eleven. Chema Nuñez is the only new signing expected to start in this game.

Man to watch: Playmaker Chema Núñez. Albacete desperately need goals and for now the best thing they got was this loanees from UD Almeria. He started the season as a regular starter at the Andalusian club, but lost weight with the exit of coach Pedro Emanuel. Now he will try to create scoring opportunities for Albacete.

Picked players: Roster to be released on Sunday.

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Tomeu Nadal - Benito, Arroyo, Kecojević, Fran García – Silvestre, Maikel Mesa - Álvaro Jiménez, Chema Núñez, Dani Ojeda - Zozulya.
