La Liga increased the salary caps of the Segunda teams in €12.42 million during the winter window. Deportivo got the biggest increase with €2.06 million, mainly thanks to the operation with ABANCA.

Last week La Liga released the new status of the salary caps after the revision made during the winter window. For Segunda División, 18 of the 22 clubs were benefited with a raise; the total amount of the increase is €12.42 million.

The only four clubs that didn’t increase their salary caps were Girona FC, Sporting Gijón, Málaga CF and CD Numancia. Despite not having an increase, Girona FC remain to be the club with the highest salary cap in the league.

Deportivo got the biggest increase at Segunda with €2.06 million, and it was possible thanks to the loan of ABANCA, the amount is €5 million, but the LFP only allows the 25% to be used in this transfer window, so the club had a raise for €1.25 million, and the remaining €810,000 came for other sources, like the release of Pedro Mosquera at the end of the summer.

With this increase, Depor passed from been the sixth club with the highest salary cap to be the fifth. UD Las Palmas is now sixth in this list. The second club with the highest raise in the salary cap is Rayo Vallecano, the Madrilenians increased their top in €2 million.
