Crucial game for the permanence. Aketxe and Mollejo return and should be starters. Fernando Vázquez is set to kick the scheme with five defenders.

Referee: Óliver de la Fuente Ramos
VAR Official: Aitor Gorostegui Fernández Ortega
Kick-off: 19h30 CET (Carlos Tartiere)

Deportivo have now spent 348 minutes without scoring a goal, the last goal was netted by Mollejo in the visit to Real Zaragoza (February 23). Since then the Galicians have been unable to find the back of the net and, to make things worse, they have only completed five shots on target within the last three meetings.

It's a vital game in the fight to avoid demotion, because both teams are tied in points and are currently living at the border of the relegation zone, Deportivo have a small advantage after winning the game of the first round.

Real Oviedo are currently living a positive streak after adding 7 of the last 9 points in dispute, but their record at the Carlos Tartiere stadium has been poor on this season. They have only won 5 of 16 home meetings and their 21 points added in this condition represent the fifth worst mark in the league, only above Albacete (17), Alcorcón (16), Extremadura (16) and Racing Santander (15).

Coach Fernando Vázquez, who didn’t offer a press conference before the game, will keep using the system with five defenders, but will introduce a couple of changes as Depor pass through a tight calendar and need fresh legs. Víctor Mollejo is back from suspension and returns to perform on the left side of the defence. Meanwhile, Javi Montero is rested and Mujaid Sadick will now be a starter at the centre. It’s also expected that Ager Aketxe will start at midfield.

Team news: Víctor Mollejo is back from suspension, while Hugo Vallejo and Ager Aketxe are fit to play after missing the last game due to muscle problems. Three players are at the injury room: Jorge Valín, Somma and Jovanović. Montero is rested and Juvenile keeper Alberto Sánchez is on the roster.

Man to watch: Centre-back Mujaid Sadick. Depor didn’t look good in defence against Sporting Gijón, now the return of Mujaid should bring solidity as the Galicians face a crucial game for the permanence.

Picked players: (23) Dani Giménez, Alberto (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, David Simón, Mujaid Sadick, Abdoulaye Ba, Luis Ruiz, Salva Ruiz (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez, Peru Nolaskoain, Uche Agbo, Gaku Shibasaki, Ager Aketxe, Víctor Mollejo, Emre Çolak, Hugo Vallejo, Keko Gontán (midfielders); Mamadou Koné, Borja Valle, Christian Santos, Claudio Beauvue & Sabin Merino (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (5-3-2) Dani Giménez – Bóveda, Mujaid, Ba, Nolaskoain, Mollejo – Aketxe, Gaku, Çolak – Beauvue, Sabin Merino.
Real Oviedo are following a similar path compared to Deportivo. The Asturians were expecting to fight for the promotion, and now find themselves fighting to avoid demotion with only ten matchdays remaining. Besides, they also had three coaches in the season and their last boss is the one having the best results. José Ángel Ziganda arrived in February and has now coached the team in four games, losing the first one and later adding 7 of the next 9 points in dispute.

Team news: The return into competition hasn’t been good for Ziganda, before the last game  against SD Ponferradina he lost three players due to muscle injuries: Winger/playmaker Saúl Berjón, side defender Juanjo Nieto and winger Sebas Coris. They will be out for a month and represent important casualties ahead of the game with Deportivo.

Man to watch: Striker Alfredo Ortuño. He is the top-scorer of Real Oviedo during this season and had a strong start netting 7 of his 11 goals within the first 8 matchdays. He has been a nightmare for Deportivo in the past, in the last matchday of the Segunda season 2013/14, he scored and assisted for Girona FC in their 3-1 win over Depor, just months later he moved to Granada CF, and they faced Depor in the first game at Primera for the campaign 2014/15, and once again he shone providing an assist to see his team imposing over Deportivo (2-1).

Picked players: Roster to be released on Wednesday

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Lunin - Christian Fernández, Arribas, Carlos Hernández, Lucas – Bárcenas, Tejera, Luismi, Sangalli – Baldé, Ortuño.
