Álex Bergantiños was the only player that talked after the disappointing result against SD Compostela, Fernando Vázquez arrived at the stadium until the final minutes as he was attending to his brother funeral.

Weird situation for Deportivo after the final whistle at the Vero Boquete stadium. It was known that the brother of Fernando Vázquez passed away during the weekend, but the club informed that the coach wasn’t present at the stadium until the final whistle (he arrived at minute 75 after the funeral), and later the cub didn’t allow assistants Manuel Pombo and neither David Sánchez to face the media.

Instead, captain Álex Bergantiños was the one taking the questions from reporters. He admitted that Deportivo aren’t fulfilling the expectations, "Today we lacked collective coupling in terms of movements, and we also lack decisions in an individual level. There are many moments in which we don’t decide well, with too hasty actions. We abuse driving. We need to add more passes in the rival side of the field, because if not, then it is very difficult individually to overcome defenders that are well ordered. We have to improve that a lot, we have to raise awareness and help our teammates."

"We have lacked fluency in three quarters of the field. At the back, more or less we took the ball without problems, but it was difficult for us to have continuity in three quarters of the field, adding more passes, have a little more patience to find spaces. Having lost too many balls against a team that has moved the ball well. They haven't given us too many chances, but we weren't comfortable at any time. They have been ordered. Hence the result: a balanced game with few chances." The midfielder added.

Álex also talked of the circumstances of the game, "It was weird and difficult, because the coach couldn’t be here. Players have been injured. Apart from the game, we go home with a strange feeling. We have a week to improve certain issues, to refresh things a little. Also, the physical issue, the players are progressing and suddenly we go to a totally different field, with synthetic grass as the one we will find on next Sunday.”

At SD Compostela, coach Yago Iglesias was satisfied with the performance of his team, “I saw a Compostela that was brave since the kick-off, identified with its philosophy, trying to dispute the ball against any rival that’s in front. I believe that, in the first half, the control of the ball and space prevailed, because we know that Depor have great players in attack, so we weren’t interested in a game with an exchange of blows, and since minute 70 we tried to have more control at midfield and damage in transitions, and it was then that the best opportunities arrived.”
