Vázquez has problems in defence as only three defenders are available. He might end up picking players from Fabril.

The latest victory over Unionistas brought some calm to Deportivo, the team has now seven points in three games and some improvement was witnessed in the performance of the players, but coach Fernando Vázquez is worried as the casualties are hitting his team, especially the defence.

And it’s that he has only three defenders available for this Sunday’s game against Coruxo FC (Riazor, 12h00 CET). Against Unionistas, Erik Osede only lasted 13 minutes after picking an Achilles injury on his left leg, it was feared that the centre-back had damaged the Achilles muscle, which would have meant a long-term recovery, but the scans only detected a Soleus issue that didn't break the muscle. Still, the defender will be out for at least one month.

The ex-Numancia defender joins Eneko Bóveda and Salva Ruiz as the confirmed casualties for Sunday’s game. The side defenders will miss their second game in a row after picking groin injuries in the visit to SD Compostela.

And there’s more, centre-back Borja Granero suffered a relapse from his knee problem in the warming up before facing Unionistas, he didn’t play the game and has barely participated of the collective sessions during this week. He hasn’t been ruled out of the meeting (he will make a late test on Saturday), but it’s unlikely that he will play on Sunday.

This leaves the coach with only one centre-back fit to play, and this will push Álex Bergantiños to perform at the centre of the defence as it happened against Unionistas. And Uche Agbo might have the chance to debut as a starter on this season. The Nigerian midfielder replaced Osede on last Sunday and seemed fine performing for 77 minutes alongside Borges.

Fernando Vázquez was criticized last weekend for not relying on Fabril’s player as his roster was only composed by 18 players (he can pick 20). But on this week up to seven players from Fabril's have been training with the first team.

Goalkeeper Alberto, centre-back Juan Rodríguez and striker Adri Castro are usually working with the senior squad. And on this week they have been joined by centre-back David Suárez plus side defenders Trilli, Álex Boedo and Iván Guerrero. Any of them might have a spot in the roster for Sunday.

At Coruxo CF, the club from Pontevedra is not having a good start. They have only added one point after three games and still have to score a goal. Coach Michel Alonso has some injury problems, and in their case, it is affecting he offensive efforts.

Midfielders Jacobo Trigo and Álex Ares, plus attackers Diego Silva and Alexander Valiño are out due to muscle problems. Silva scored five goals on last season. Top-scorer Youssef Al Watani (7 goals) left the club during the summer, and replacements Pedro Vázquez, Jairo Cárcaba, Álex Valiño and Chevi haven’t met the expectations.
