In the paragraphs to follow, you will discover what a wonderful bunch we are and why we care so deeply about Deportivo de La Coruña. The latter is the reason why we started this blog. This amazing football club is what bonds us. Later on, you will find out that each of us is unique in our way, so keep reading to get to know more about us.
Alejandro: The IT Engineer Turned Football Fan
My name is Alejandro, and I come from Argentina. My family moved to Spain when I was little, and ever since this country has become my home.
To be honest, there is nothing particularly thrilling to tell about the first half of my life. I was a total nerd throughout my school years. I often like to say that my life started when I got accepted into college.
You see, the reason I was such a geek was that I’ve loved computers from an early age. That is why, all I ever did in school was sit in front of my CRT monitor and read about programming. Nerdy, huh?
However, things changed when I got into college. I got admitted to a university in Galicia, near the city of A Coruña. And that was where I met the loveliest group of people, fellow students, and Deportivo de La Coruña fans, and the rest is history. I will just lift the curtain a little to introduce Bart and Georgina, with whom we started this blog.
Bart: A Dutch Football Player Enamored with Spanish Teams
Hoi! My name is Bart, and I’m a Dutch student who’s on a sports scholarship to play football at a college in Spain. I came here two years ago and fell in love with Deportivo de La Coruña, which I believe is one of the greatest European football teams of all time.
There are many, many reasons why I love Deportivo, but probably one of the primary ones is the amazing fan base that these guys have. I mean, as a foreigner in Spain, I have met all of my best friends here by going to Deportivo games and fan events.
Thanks to our shared passion for football, we have become more than a community; we are a family. Alejandro here, for instance, was just a shy awkward guy until we accepted him into our friend group. And look at him now – he’s now one of the most popular guys in college!
Georgina: A Tomboy Turned Cheerleader
Hello mates! I am Georgina, and I come from the UK. Now, mind you, I’m not your average pale Brit who came to Spain for the food and sunny weather. I came here for football! That’s right; you read that correctly.
Being the only girl in a family of five brothers, I was a complete tomboy as a child. I grew up playing football together with the boys in the streets of Manchester. Therefore, it was no wonder that I decided to come to college in Spain, where football is a religion. That’s how I met Alejandro and Bart and started this blog!
